Dean Towers; being a stop gap ruck experiment didn't help his cause. Sacrificial lamb perhaps?

Agree with the general sentiment re Dean it really is a mystery as to who he may have slighted or what he did to lead to his delisting. It seemed that when he got a run of games in the 2016 and 2017 seasons that he felt he was filling a role within the team and started to play with some confidence. I wish him all the best for the future and hope he gets a contract elsewhere where he could add some depth and experience to a list.
Congratulations on playing 57 more AFL games than about 25 million other residents of this country

These players have expired 2018 contracts. We know about Newman going, but will any of the rest end up at another club?

The first time it was funny. But aren't you pushing it by the 4th time?

I don't think it's a massive mystery. He doesn't chase hard or put on consistent pressure. He might play a decent game occassionally - clunk a mark, deliver well into F50 - but it doesn't happen often enough and can't be relied upon. Too often we're left carrying him playing an ineffective 8-10 possession game.

I imagine Bell will get a second year on the rookie list. I think he's shown enough improvement over the year, and he has some attributes that suggest he could make it at senior level. If the club disagreed I think he'd have been included on today's list of delisted players. He'd have little to no trade value.

Perhaps the strategy is to bring in some solid, mature bodied role players, not 1 mega bucks superstar , to ease the pressure and workload and on our own stars ( Joey and Parker ) and take some heat off our young up and coming stars ( Ronke , Florent, Hayward, Jones , Hewett ). Joey and parks had okay seasons but nothing on previous years, they do look tired and in need of help and obviously hanners and Jack didn’t provide much of the this year. Also I think it’s time to let George hewett off the chain , let him concentrate on winning the ball without a tagging role, and honestly I think he could be our midfield Bull next season if someone else can come in and do his run with roles ( even if they aren’t as effective in that role as he has been ). It is a common theme with the swans , Jack, Macca and obviously Kirky all paid their dues in the run with role before getting their chance to play their own game for 4 quarters. All of those turned out pretty well.

AFL players that tackle the least - it's not just St Kilda's Jack Newnes | Sporting News
His is no defender and will need to play wing or forward. On the. Bad side he does not tackle great and there was not any hardball gets in his video highlights. On the positive side, he seems to find space, which is a good skill to obtain. I see Matthew lyold is suggesting Collingwood get pick 12 from us for Moore and then give pick 17 and 12 to Gold Coast for May. Since we seem to have missed getting any decent midfielders, the trade may not Be too bad.

Just because we’ve possibly missed all the good mids available ( wouldn’t count us out of having a trick up the sleeve just yet ) doesn’t mean our first round pick for Moore is a good deal. I think he is a worth maybe an early second round pick ( which we don’t have , but could possibly get our hands on , whether it’s this year or next years , St Kilda’s 2nd round pick next year which we should get for hanners ). Perhaps us throwing a ‘steak knives’ player in too , although whether they would want any of our fringe players Is another story.

I've never seen any indication that Moore wants to come to the Swans. I really think he is squabbling with the Pies over money, but might get pushed out or forced to consider an offer way below what he think's he's worth.

How about we send back the Pies 2nd round draft pick for Moore?

So if we put in a decent offer for Moore
                            Collingwood doesn’t match it
                            Collingwood want May
Suns accept pick 12 we give to pies

                            Who can trump this ?

Only the pies if they want to keep Moore?

Seriously if we can start to compete in the Ruck again wow we are a different team

All our contested players can truly contest again

Plus in Moore we have a very versatile Ruck forward defender if Naismith comes back and hits his straps

Plus buddy has an inferior defender or les two on ones which would be nice

When we went to the games at SCG we had a favourite location, and came to know the people sitting in the row behind us. They were Bell's family, which meant we watched him much more closely than we might have done otherwise and shared a high five when he kicked a goal. I thought he showed promise: good pace, decent kick, prepared to throw himself into a tackle, seemed most of the time to know where to be. I hope to see more of him next season.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
