i usually have trust in our list team...but that is just ridiculous... We would ahve been better giving up players as free agents and getting compo picks
Just hoping we are freeing up cap space for Kelly or someone big.

Why give them a our second round pick, why not a pick in the 30s???

Seriously are beginning to doubt our traders; everyone seems to get two first round picks, Mitchell we only get one??

Can't understand this trade. If a 3rd rounder was all that was on offer we should of kept him. His salary certainly isn't an issue given the

low profile players we bringing in. I hope there is something in the pipeline to make this all seem reasonable.

As it stands now this was a ridiculously one sided trade. Not a good look for Harley's negotiating skills.

Look forward top hearing how he sells this disappointing outcome to us all.

Port asked for him, but there are not too many Adelaide players who go back, Gibbs being an exception which proves the rule.

If Port got our second round next year and the Hawk first round this year, they may reconsider.

I just consider Burton a real star in the making, better than his draft position.

Out drafting is far too conservative and in the case of Hannas, garbage!

Part of his salary may well have enabled us to re-sign Lloyd. Clearly desperate to offload him.

Given most on here didn't want DH in the team for most of the year it is probably about the right trade.

I am sure we will see the upside in the next trade.

If any of the picks are involved in a Langdon trade then I won't be too disappointed. Surely with what we got from the Saints, this trade was just to get him off our books.

The only upside in that trade will be if Hanners never regains form.

                  As I see it too.

Earlier I said we've seen the best of Hanners, and he had a spectacular career up to 2017. If the Saints can fix him physically, good luck to them and to Dan, but I wouldn't be putting my money on it.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Gave away a champion player for next to nothing. Pretty bad. There is no way you can spin it to make it look good, we'd have to land a surprise big fish to salvage this trade.

if that was purely a salary cap trade we cant (have) realistically be(en) in discussions with Langdon, Moore, etc

I also suspect the Swans think Dan will never regain form.

Worse trade ever. Harley needs to explain this.

Reminds me of the 2007 Schneider/Dempster trade - and to the same team! Established the core for the Saints to become a force a few years later. Conversely the Swans slipped into the wilderness for a few years.

If the Saints are prepared to extend his contract they clearly do, and they needed the trade to go through for their clubs profile.

That certainly sounds like an awful trade. Can that really be correct? A future second round pick when the Saints are extending his contract at similar money felt like a poor return, but a downgrade from second round to the third round as well?????
