    Plough's 2018 season predictions

Those were his pre-season predictions, as published 7 months ago on SEN. He has the Swans finishing second on the ladder and West Coast finishing 14th.

Whether or not any on here agree with his observations on the Swans' list, he's not someone who's viewpoint I generally place much stock in.

Bit of a shame. I was looking forward to Vandenberg becoming a Swan, as he always goes in hard and he does seem to be a quality person. The Demons fans seem happy that he's staying, as well.

He wanted to go, we didn't want him and the pick we got for him is used to get Ryan Clarke.....that's a win!

Stevo, the ???????? was in relation to the original post, which was confusing. You kinda need to read the trail of responses. That said I think everyone would agree with your sentiments. BTW Talia played one game for the seniors. Are we still mates?

Yes I think that its at least a breakeven on Rohan. He had a poor 2018 season and has generally let us down in finals. He is a great clubman and will be missed but we had to make changes. The guy coming in should be handy.

Missing vandenBerg is disappointing. Hopefully we get Langdon and perhaps pick up a mature midfielder somewhere else ( though I have no idea who that might be now ). Yolmen-Ellis maybe ?

Just read *Ellis-Yolmen re signed for s year with the crows

VandenBerg would have been very handy for us on the SCG with his big body. Good luck to him though for staying loyal to his Club.

I found it a bit strange, seeing a photo of Rohan in his new Geelong jumper. I guess that I had some sort of emotional investment in his on again, off again career. In that I often found myself hoping, that he would overcome his latest adversity, and become the star that we hoped that he would be. Except for glimpses, that never really happened. On one hand, he could do match changing things. The lightning run that left his opponents grasping and gasping. The chase that created a badly needed turnover goal. The kamikaze mark. On the other hand, he never did it often enough. In his career, he only averaged ten possessions a game. Which really isn't a great return for a number six pick. And then there were those important games, were I was really hoping that he would star, but instead, he was hardly sighted.
I never really worked out why that was? He didn't seem to be lazy; since whenever the ball was in his area, he always went hard. It's just that he seemed to have the odd knack, of not being where the ball was? Maybe he's a poor decision maker? Maybe he just doesn't read the game well? Who knows?
Oh well, he's Geelong's enigma, now.

According to an article that just appeared, Rohan would have been happy to stay at Sydney but the Swans raised a move to Geelong with him at season's end.

Paywall article on HS has headline "Trade call Shi--ed me off: Rohan" "Gary Rohan says his relationship with Longmire remains strong despite admitting he was initially angry when the Swans proposed a trade to Geelong"

Can we assume they approached approached Hannebery to do the same before St Kilda & Melbourne came knocking?

He did not want to leave the Swans. When pushed he only would entertain Geelong as a trade.

Still a win......Adversities aside, I think we were all sick of waiting for Gary to deliver.

But you didn't say the Clarke bit the first time......so overall, the Rohan trade is a win then.
