This is supposed to be a good draft so we should not be afraid to draft some more young talent rather than over-focusing on recycled players from elsewhere who want big coin and long contracts. Blakey plus another future topline youngster would be good for our list.

      So freeo want

      Hogan
Pick 5 from Brissie for Neale minimum
      Lobb

Rumoured Beams wants to go from Brissie to the Pies

Pies appear to want steven May from gold coast

I would like a running fast player like Ed Langdon at our club from freeo

I would like a backline intercept player like Tom Langdon or Brayden Sier from the Pies to free up jones and mills and move those two into our midfield

So what can we do to help these clubs to get what we want ??

      http://m.collingwoodfc.com.au/player-profile/brayden-sier

Sier only did a one year contract for 2019 and I think he will be a gun back for the next 10yrs

Daniel Howe at the Hawks is still Not contracted and similar inthe backline

Keep an eye on Ryan Hebron, came very close to being drafted straight out of the Swans Academy.
Won the B&F at Canberra this year as a lock down defender. Wouldn't be surprised to see the Swans rookie him.

Sier is a inside midfielder, I assume you mean Brayden Maynard?

B&F at Sydney Uni actually. I liked him when he was playing as a topup for our NEAFL team, thought we might have rookied him back then. To classify him as a lock-down defender is a little harsh, I think he offers more than that.

Sier isn't a backline intercept player. He's a strong bodied contested midfielder in the Kennedy mold. And he won't be leaving Collingwood. Howe isn't really a backline intercept player either. His best performances have been as a run-with midfielder. (While Hewett was busy shutting down Mitchell, Howe was doing similar with Kennedy.)

It's one thing to want to add players but
                  a) they have to want to leave their existing club; and
                  b) their club needs to be prepared to lose them (or they need to be out of contract and intent on leaving);and
                  c) they need to want to come to Sydney

Ed Langdon won't be leaving Freo this year. Brayden Sier won't be leaving Collingwood this year.

I wonder if that is behind their trade of picks with Port?

Port get pick 6 and future 3rd round
                    Freo get 11, 23, 30 and 49

Freo's priority will be Lobb and Hogan. Not sure they'll have enough after those 2 trades to get T.Langdon.

Yes I think in that sense it's a good trade for us.
Would have been nice to turn our pick 13 into pick 6 though.

Isn't he the fall back if Langdon and others fall over? or is he in addition to Langdon?

Duryea is looking at the dogs and I guess he is talking to Suckling.

I don't really want Duryea. He is not the same as Langdon as he can't play tall. Duryea would struggle to get a game I reckon.
