We,re almost like Norf getting knocked back by potential recruits. On the Norf board they always say "not fussed, at least we pushed up their contract price"

Norf might have problems if Tarryn Thomas and Bailey Scott go at 15 & 20, they're not holding a lot of points.

That is why I said have a serious chat with him and see if he has any insight in to his conduct. At least have a chat.
The club is the arbiter......hence they should at least meet with him.

Though personally, I'd be much more likely to believe Tom Harley, above anything printed in the Herald Sun.

He's just being diplomatic. It's better than, "we asked Gary to go home because he isn't performing". Rohan would have been happy to stay.

Beautifully worded by Harley. Doesn’t say he asked to be traded. But implies he did.

Rohan was interviewed on trade radio; suggested the alternative was to stay for the two years. I understood he meant see the contract out. He said that the Sydney raised it first with his manager, but on considering it thought the change would be good and said as much when the Swans asked him an open question about his future at the exit interview. He described the departure as mutual.

I feel for the guy. Hopefully this is good for him and his family.

So now that we have a much clearer picture of picks and points what would u like to see happen next ?

Pick 26 - tom langdon pick to pies ?

Pick 28 - outside running mid trading our pick 28 for a player like E.Langdon ?

Pick 61 - got us Ryan clarke

Picks 33, 38, 40, 67 to be used for Nick Blakey ie these picks are approx 1500 pts which equals pick 5 when discounted 20% which covers us I think

Hannes trade ? Pick this year ?

                  Free agent - Taylor Duryea

There is no suggestion we gave Ed Langdon a medical before he went to Africa with Tom.

Reckon if we don't use any picks to bring in more players that we could do some more pick trading. I'd reckon pick 39 is coming our way for Hanners (plus next years second), so we'll end up with 33, 38, 39, 40, 67.

To take six picks to the draft we need six vacant spots on our list, because we run under at 38 spots, we need four vacancies which we now have and four is all we'll fill anyway, that's Blakey (26 + 28) plus three. Makes picks 40 & 67 tradeable to upgrade one of our picks in the 30s or something like 33 & 40 for Dogs pick 27, lifts our pick and gives Dogs 200 more points for Rhylee West.

Plenty more to go and aren't we all happy with the cracking rollicking pace this year, unlike previous years funeral processions!

                        Agree
No suggestion either way. Not asked either

Would have flown out from Sydney together most likely

But most importantly what do u want to happen mattW ?

What does our team need to be significantly better in 2019 ?

Ed Langdon not that good is he that we'd want him? Didn't watch Freo this year??

+1 Despite his inconsistent performances I really do like the guy. Seems like a great guy to have around the club. Can understand if he felt taken a back when first quizzed if he was open to a trade, considering he knocked back Geelong's offer couple years ago to remain with us and all the support he received with that horrific leg injury and personal issues this year. Sad, but I really do wish him all the best.

There's no point in upgrading picks as our top 2 picks will just be going to draft Blakey, and our 3rd highest pick is also likely to affected by Blakey. The best thing to do is use some of the picks to recruit players, like Tom Langdon.

If we are left with our current picks, plus St Kilda's pick 39, we might as well trade the top ones for future picks and leave ourselves with enough for Blakey plus a late pick in this draft. It wouldn't be the best outcome for this year, but what can you do? At least we could enter the draft next year in a good starting position.

Can still remember when we drafted Rohan, Emma Quayle making prediction he will fill up many highlight reels!
