What if Jarrad McVeigh is the successor to John Longmire? If that is the case he won't be going anywhere. Why wouldn't we be developing our own home grown person to take over. That way we don't deviate from what has been successful for so long. Longmire did a long apprenticeship before he took over. Maybe that's why John is saying it was agreed on at the end of last season. Looks the ideal successor. Remember he was in the box for a game last season.

I agree. I've been presuming he's Longmire's successor, which would be fine by me.

I agree with the Rhys Shaw sentiments......hearing the way some of the players have talked about him, he would be great as head coach. I'd be quite happy with McVeigh in an assistant role.....defence or midfield, in fact, anywhere. He's cluey.....

Eddie is just jealous that Collingwood can't attract big names. Apart from Treloar who of note has gone to them? (And he must regret not going to the Tigers!)

Rhyce Shaw seems the logical choice for next head coach to me, but with Horse at only 47 y.o. the heir apparent could be long mired in the stable of assistant coaches.

I don't think McVeigh would make a good head coach. I can't say why. It's just a feeling.

Longmire shows no signs of flagging. Very stable person of great character. When he does give it away or things change, why wouldn't Brett Kirk be the man?

Can vouch the same Blood Fever being a South/Sydney supporter for over 50 years. I long had debates regarding this with my Melbourne mates, but they can't see it because that are too fixated with their Vic teams. Because of my rantings, they now dislike the Swans when they used to be their 2nd team!

Have stopped trying to have debates KSAS. Sick of beating head against brick wall. Melbourne culture too ingrained.

Great to see Ronke signed on for another two years. I am really impressed with his pace, pressure, and skill.

An expected promotion/signing but nice to get it out of the way early. Whilst his seven goals is highly unlikely to occur again, Ronke has a lot of footy smarts to go with his hardness and pace. Came to us as a midfielder so expect with maturity he will be added to the forward/mid roster which is building nicely, where's those shades again, the bright future is blinding me!

I wouldn't worry about the next coach. The only way longmire will leave is if he's poached by another club or we spend 5 years at the bottom.
He could easily be coach for the next 10 years.

Needs to start getting team selection correct then. We have the correct team on here every week, he only needs to look, instead he makes up his own mind and gets it wrong!

Lloyd is an important re-signing but surely the number one priority has to be Sinclair? I hadn't realised he was out of contract this year. The way he's playing at the moment is surely pushing his price upwards.
