      Smith backline

      Naismith to ruck

      Heeney FT in the midfield

Florent to take over the Jones role on HBF

Given we will free up massive $ ie via hannes $ plus tippets plus Rohan’s plus Grundy and macca on minimal $ in 2019

      1. Lloyd stays

      2. Moore to the Swans in exchange for our next years 2019 first round pick

      3. Hannes to saints in exchange we pick up Acres and paddy McCartin....and the saints first round pick next year (which balances out our first round future pick list in Moore trade)

      4. Rohan to the cats for a late pick exchange in our favour plus Thurlow ?

      5. Blakey arrives and we use our pick 13 plus some points ?

      6. Newman, Towers and Robbo to GC for a pick in mid 20s which we use points towards Blakey trade.

      7. Picks 31 and 34 still active in draft

      8. KB surprise!!!!!!

surely Hanners worth a 1st rounder with his current salary and sts matching + an extra yr. Surely not Moore runs around like a prima donna.

Friggen hell... do we have ANY players left?
We haven't even had the granny yet. Don't we normally wait until the formalities of the season are over?
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

I don't think it makes sense to pigeon hole a still developing 18 year old into a single position before he's even drafted. Chances are he'll play in a variety of positions anyway, as his career evolves.
Liz, I was referencing Horse’s comments when Blakey chose the Swans. Longmire referred to him as a future midfielder (although I couldn’t find the article this morning).

See that May is on his way out of Gold Coast, which would free up more $ to go after Lloyd with.

This is what worries me. GC apparently have cap problems, don't know how, but Lynch and May going will mean they have enough $ to "overpay" two or three potential recruits, Lloyd among them.

Really sad to hear another player leaving gold coast. But I think Gill has the answer. Extending the goal square by 18m is a masterstroke in sports administration.

I think they should use extension of the goal square as an equalisation measure. When Richmond play Carlton, the Blues get to kick in from the centre square

How bad is Melb media, making out like losing Hannas (who they are all saying is shot) rohan ( who plays neafl and they all bag for minimal impact) and Newman (who i doubt will get a contract elsewhere) and sydney is falling apart ???
2 guys not in our 22 and 1 guy top 3 money but not top 12 F & B for the last 2 yrs
I dont know how they do it with a straight face

It’s not unreasonable to ask why was there an exodus of coaches last year and three 1st team players potentially out the door this year plus Rhyce Shaw.

I’m hoping it’s part of a deliberate strategy to refresh and improve our list and gameplan, which will become clearer in the off season..

Nah. It's just that we're normally still playing. First time we haven't been in the race at this stage since 2009.

I was surprised to read on the regular AFL Sliding Doors about talk of player unrest in Sydney. I find that hard to believe. Players changing clubs is hardly unusual these days.

Typical Damien Barrett rumour mongering for the benefit of his column.

Patterns emerge, but do they mean anything? No.

Rhyce coaching Neafl is hardly a sort after role for a victorian, not sure why he wasnt given a Senior team role
Newman and Rohan would be 1st team on maybe 4 other teams if they are lucky
Only 1 team wants Hannas at 800k

                                Hardly an exodus
