I think the rules on eligibility are a bit flexible, particularly by prior agreement with the other team. All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)Comment

Warmed into the first quarter nicely.
I really like McLean - great contested mark and a real physical presence. Our ruckmen Naismith and Knoll are dominating the ruck. Good signs from Ling. Hirst has shown a bit. McInerney has broken away a few times. Rose a level above.Comment

Pink was also good in defence, until his opponent took mark of the year. Though not much you can do about that. Gulden and Thorne also showed a bit of promise.Comment

Won't be long before McLean will be challenging the likes of Reid for a tall forward spot.
Pink imo has done enough for another contract and I'll put my reputation at risk in saying he will play AFL in 2020........Comment

Really enjoyable contest, but as always I get a little frustrated by the umpiring when its non-AFL affiliated vs AFL affiliated clubs. Really seems they almost have 2 sets of rule books they apply. Some very frustrating calls this quarter in particular.
Pink and McLean both doing well."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

Kicking skills and disposal decisons on a par with the 1's. How about the frees missed to Ling in one play. Had him in a head lock.Comment

After he took a mark and then was hit with front on contact.Comment

Syd Uni midfield pulverising ours in the 3rd. Many of their mids look alot more polished then ours, making better choices, hitting more targets. We only seem to be bombing it into forward 50, losing the contest once ball goes to ground. I'd say Rose is struggling to show enough to warrant a new contract, Wicks and Bell quiet, Foote and McInerney non existent.Comment

Disappointing third quarter unfortunately and going to be tough from here. Wasted some good chances going forward, and Uni rode their luck and created some good goals along the way. Will be tough to dig our way out of this hole from here.

Rose must surely be on the chopping block. I've always wanted him to make it, but we can't wait forever. I have been impressed by McLean and Pink however - both showing plenty, in particular Pink is starting to look very comfortable down back.
I thought the highlight of that quarter was early on, when Gulden had a couple of classy involvements in a long attack, which got it to Hirst deep in the pocket, from where he kicked a dart under pressure, straight through the posts.
Terrible umpiring cost us. The accuracy of the Bar TV commentators, suggests that they spent halftime in the bar.Comment
