I wouldn't. Gawn will be 28 next year which is approaching ruckman retirement years and we'd be giving up a 26YO who is our best player and a 24YO who's playing style we desperately need. We don't need the best ruckman in the league, just a decent one.Comment

The Age reports that Daisy Thomas' retirement is likely to be in part due to potential salary squeeze next season. They reckon Carlton are after Coniglio, Brandon Ellis and - Tom Papley.
Hope it ain't so and if it is, he won't go.
Daisy to retire from Carlton, and most likely football

I think we need an inside midfielder more urgently than any other position in the coming years. With that in mind, I would have a good go at Charlie Constable from Geelong who can’t break into their star-studded midfield despite playing well earlier in the year as well as consistently positing good numbers in the VFLComment

"If a trade is forthcoming, Geelong youngster Constable could seek a move in the opposite direction amid reported frustration with a lack of opportunities at senior level."
Oh and he had 41 disposals, 2 goals on the weekend.Comment

GC Suns looking for some experience. Assuming the AFL comes to the party, GC likely to hold picks 1 and 2. What are everyone's thoughts on:
a) likelihood of them giving up 2 for Lloyd, keeping in mind they have expressed interest in Jake last year
b) would he be worth trading for pick 2?
I wouldn't contemplate anything less from them and don't want any of their players that they would put up for trade (no way they would give up Rankine, Lukosius, King).

Dad was a Maggie barracked and saw Polly v them. A couple of weeks later, Geelong played Carlton atPrinces park. He made me go with him to see Poll v Nicholls. Said you’ll never see something like this again. And I never have. He missed a Maggie game and I missed a Roy’s game. Worth it. Awesome.Comment

I think Lloyd is worth a 5-10 first rounder, at least. Metres gained leader in the AFL, also #1 in kicks and #3 in disposals. Statistically, he's just about the best player in the league. He's incredibly consistent and rarely injured. Best and fairest winner last year. He's likely entering the peak years of his career at 25 yo. It's hard to ask for more. Some of the criticism of Lloyd on RWO is farcical.
Lloyd almost always takes the slow and easy option, hence why his efficiency his so high! He looks for a short kick to a player on his own mostly sideways.
I would much rather a player who has a bit lower efficiency percentage due to trying to take the game on with quick and attacking play, trying to kick in board to a player that can play on... but hey, just my opinion.

Efficiency doesn’t necessarily equate to effectiveness though . His kicks to a man hard on the boundary in the back pocket are a good example .
