Dougal Howard has now requested a trade to the Saints which will further complicate things now they are chasing four players in Brad Hill, Patrick Ryder, Zak Jones and Howard. Not sure how that's all going to get done.

      Interesting to determine value.
I would have thought if it was two 10th picks, chances are, one would turn out as good a Kelly, and one would be an ok player of around 100 games. Since Geelong have already got a few years use out of Kelly, I think it favours Geelong, however they are 14th pick, not 10th, so its about even.

Both can be happy, and Geelong can inject some much needed youth into their team.

Would have thought this was good enough.

Is the negativity and rash predictions, re: what makes him tick, because he came from Geelong and not us?
My statement was general in nature, based on my interactions with CEOs and observations in general. I do not process to know Harley at all, and for all I know, could be way off the mark in regards to him.

That aside, one of my mates' brother is friends with Tom. His daughter plays in the same footy team as Tom's daughter and apparently he is a really nice guy.

I heard that these players will have 3rd party deals on the Jayco assembly line on executive wages. They will clock on at 9.30am, have morning tea with the rest of the boys and girls, and clock off at 10.30am. That's on Wednesdays when all players have the day off, and will work a one day week.

Now it looks even more likely that Blake Acres will have to go. I've already said that I think it's a reasonable swap for Jones. I wonder what our trade team think about it?

The Saints must be offering huge money to just about anyone who can hold a football. What else could be the reason so many players are wanting to go there. Certainly not for a premiership medal.

Barry from the Barossa loves the Theatre of Trade Week. He is especially happy if The Ravens triumph in the last act.

Lance from Lara would be especially happy with the picks received in the Tim Kelly trade,

They are offering clandestine 3rd party deals. They can't possibly be within their salary cap.

Did the bombers give the 37 draft pick to the cats ? In the trade with west coast ?

I've been thinking that, but not necessarily about the Saints. My guess is that they've been trying so hard to lure players to them, without success, that they've bitten off more than they can chew this year, but they'll find someway to fit them in, even if that means discarding other players.

But I have been wondering about the Giants and Eagles in particular.

Yeo, McGovern (who we know signed a big dollar contract last year, probably the biggest for a defender), Shuey, Gaff, JJK, NicNat, Darling, Sheed and now Kelly. Plus a pretty solid "next tier" of players like Shepherd, Jetta, Barrass, Ryan (who will still be on his first contract in 2020 but will earn a decent payrise when he renews). How do they fit Kelly in on top of what they already have?

Giants have secured Coniglio, and also have Kelly and Greene on handsome contracts - maybe not as much as they would have got elsewhere but still sizeable. Then you throw in the likes of Davis, Williams, Ward, emerging (or maybe fully emerged) mids in Hopper and Taranto. And yet they seem confident they will be able to retain both Cameron - the reigning Coleman medallist and AA Whitfield. Even with Tomlinson and Patton on the way out, it's really hard to see how they all fit.

Bit weird, their involvement in the trade. They traded their second round pick up a few spots and their third round pick down a few spots. Not really sure what that messing around with second and round third picks did for West Coast and Geelong in terms of feeling satisfied with the deal. Seems to be farting around at the margins somewhat. But some value for the Bombers, I guess.

Auntie Gerald wants the Swans to stop wasting money on actual ruckmen, suggesting we turn JD into a 50/50 ruckman forward.
By that same logic, why not get the next tallest key forward to do the other 50% of the rucking. Perhaps a Franklin/Daniher ruck combination is the ideal?
This really is the silly end of the silly season.

Id say the stand off between Geelong and Sainys is more to do with who is paying his wage as opposed to the actual pick number
Just another ball the Saints have in the air
