Curious when everyone's patience and faith will run out ? Wait and see has been the motto for a few yrs now with Florent, Hayward , Aliir , HewettDawson, and none have become stars yet. Even Mills would barely be considered a star now in his fifth year. All good players but none reached the level we'd have hoped them to reach when they started out promising kids

Interesting cos I had a wander back to the early days of Jude, Jarrod McV and a few others.
There were plenty on here who insisted neither would ever make it.
Crouchie was another in the gun in early days.
And equally , there were a few who ultimately bombed who were high in RWO's esteem.
Just emphasises that Blood Fever's counsel might be well worth abiding by.
Lots of these guys take time to develop.

The Suns are open to trading the 24-year-old and pay for part of his salary if he declares he would like to explore opportunities elsewhere.

Only Victorian clubs seem to have an opinion worth noting here, so I suppose we are not in contention.

I'm not a big fan, but think he can become a Tippett type ruckman, which would have been nice if his career lasted longer.

With Ivan Soldo going down with an apparent ACL, Richmond are unlikely to trade Nanka, and Coleman-Jones as well as Chol should also be harder to get, but I don't think they will be totally off the table.

As Ludwig said, with Soldo looking injured long term, Nanka is off the table but I would be ok with pursuing Coleman-Jones or Chol. Having said that, if we can grab Wright at a bargain price and a much lower salary than he is on now, we should have a go. Get him super fit and also working with Taubert.....he could turn out to be a very handy player.

It's always 'Victorian clubs are interested/believe XX is available...'. If we have an interest in a decent player, it's the Bondi Billionaires or us having 'everyone'. Annoying.

Has Wright ever played as a main ruckman? I don't think so. Most hitouts in a game is 19, has had four games with double figure hitouts, averages 5 hitouts, 1.3 goals. Theoretically, we already have Sam Reid to play that tall forward/relief ruck role (noting that stats-wise it is the worst year of Reid's career).

Wright is not an answer to our ruck issues and in the forward-line, I suspect we're chasing a Daniher type KPF.

I think the second choice genuine ruck market is where we should/will be looking.

It would be great if we could wind back the clock and pull out some inspired trades. Examples of which:
Teddy Richards - failed forward, turned into AA defender
Craig Bolton - undersized fringe Lion, became lion hearted KP defender for us
Mumford - unfit, overweight ruck for Cats, premiership player for us
JPK - fringe Hawk, perhaps judged too slow behind some very good mids, turns out to be the best bull of his generation
Mike Pyke - Canadian rugby fullback to premiership ruckman
I could go on. The point I'm trying to make is that any trade of a roughie will be because there is a criticism (real or perceived) to their game stopping them becoming a valued player at their club. Perhaps a change of club +/- change of role, is just the tonic a fringe players needs to take their game to the next level.

Chol is very gettable. He's been subjected to some bullying by other players at Richmond and that would be a strong motivation for him to leave. I would be surprised if he doesn't request a trade.

I've just been watching the GWS tonight and am impressed by the potential of a new player for them called Jack Buckley. I read this about him:

“I’m a Giant through and through. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Even though I was in the Swans’ Academy, GWS has been my preference to where I end up. I know they are a very talented list but I don’t look at that."

I wonder how we let such a promising type walk from us to the opposition? Any thoughts?

Whilst watching GWS last night, I had a thought that most who are traded from GWS have only been poor to average at their new clubs.
Adams, Treloar and Steele have become excellent contributors at their new clubs. Lobb, Wilson, Setterfield, Plowman, Smith and Marchbank have been ok. Tyson, McCarthy, Bonar, Ahern, Patton, Shiel, Scully, Tomlinson, Bruce and ORourke (amongst others) are very average recruits to date.

Makes me think that maybe we have been on the money not dealing with GWS..............

GWS have been terribly disappointing this season. They have the list to contend but its no longer happening. Stars like Conniglio and Cameron have had very poor seasons. It will be interesting to see what they do in the post-season.

Yeh, but Dylan Shiel is sporting a great tan.

I don't respect Cameron - carries himself with an arrogance that belies his team's achievements; resorts to rough play when beaten; terrible attitude this year when the team has needed leadership, what I've seen.
