Fair enough but all players are one decent head hit away from a career ending injury.....while some go their entire career without one head hit or concussion. It's a calculated risk that all players take.....and he loves footy enough to take that risk. So should we.....Comment

Just a thought. If we had 750k + a year to offer Daniher, do we not have that money free this year? Are we going to make a play for Cameron? Paddy, Cameron, Buddy and Paps up forward. Now that would be a potent forward line if we can get it in there........Comment

Starting to think a little wider
I wonder if we are after Jeremy Cameron and PaddyMc and letting Reidy move back to Melb........Sam Reid is turning 29yrs of age.......no doubt baby in sight soon and to secure a 3yr contract down in melb with family support could make a lot of sense.......this strategy by players in this life cycle has been embraced quite often over the years"be tough, only when it gets tough"

Caroline Wilson expressed the view that Paddy should not play AFL again. I can see her point if he gets picked up and does himself permanent damage.
I’m two minds about it. If he is not at any more risk than anyone else then sure. Otherwise no.Comment

This one was published in September : AFL 2020, AFL trades, AFL free agency, list of AFL free agents, whispers, AFL trade news, Jeremy Cameron, Brad Crouch | Fox Sports
and with clubs now delisting players, there will be many addition of "delisted" free agents.Comment

"My parents get up here pretty much every second week to watch me as well. I'm not missing out on too much being up here, I've got a few mates down in Melbourne but in terms of the lifestyle, and the weather ... it's really good and I've just grown to love it over the past eight years." Don't think he has changed his mind now.Comment

There isn't because it doesn't work that way. Concussion is caused by the brain being shaken in the skull. It is the motion that does the damage. Gridiron players wear huge helmets and it doesn't help at all. If i was Paddy is have well and truly hung up the boots. The risks are too great. Danny Frawley's experiences say it all. I'd suggest we have a duty of care to not draft let alone select a player with that concussion history. I feel for Paddy but his health is more important. He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.Comment

Reid already has a 1 year old son andin an interview in 2017 (https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/...07-gxquxi.html) , he said, "There's no real reason why I would like to leave here. My soon-to-be wife is from up here, she's got a really close-knit family that have been very accepting of me from day one.

In terms of Paddy McCartin, I would definitely be happy to have him at the club. Seems like a ripping bloke from a great family. I can see him setting standards working his arse off on the training track to be given another shot. It must be so hard being promised the world as a consensus pick 1 and then having it taken away from you. I'm happy to trust the medicos and Paddy to make the right call. Of course, there is risk but we've shown before (with AJ in particular), that if you've got the talent and the right attitude we will give you our full support.
It does seem that Daniher is less likely to be coming this way or I think we would've heard more by now. This stage last year, every journo and their parrot was confident of JD coming our way. Not so this year.Comment

If there's greater long term risks for concussion or CTE I would hope he wouldn't be medically cleared. After that it's his decision and if he plays I hope he joins the swans
