If list sizes are cut by 3 then we are at the limit right now to take a max of 3 draft picks. If we want to add another player, we have to cut another player. I'm assuming ET will be cut, so that would take care of it. Assuming we do, then we could pick up Paddy McCartin or hold an open spot for mid season drafts and see if we can get someone additional at that time. With pick 3 in all the supplemental drafts next year, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a vacancy on our list.Comment

i suspect we will get another shot at an early mid next year plus two this year in Campbell and Gulden
good chance then we will go for Thilthorpe:
our time to shine probably being realistically 2022/23 so time to develop
our mids in bulk already
cover for 3 years in the ruck but need more coming thru
has ability to play a JD type role maybe early?
..............does anyone else feel like they have a fat tongue when saying Rileys surname out loud

and the best part..........in the near future we can get a stack of mid 30s or mid 40s picks in return for Dawson, Hewett, Hayward, Gouldie and Stephens when trading with Adelaide or Port"be tough, only when it gets tough"

This was the Age article where (apparently) "Sydney were intent on loading up on draft points to match any rival bids on academy prospects Braeden Campbell and Errol Gulden at next month's draft, where they are likely to use their No.3 selection on highly rated defender Denver Grainger-Barras from WAFL club Swan Districts, who looms as a long-term intercept prospect."
Struggle to think of another Swans Districts player we've recruited nws the obvious ornithological synergy!Comment

List of NGA and F/S prospects, from Twomey's November form guide:
#1 Jamarra Ugle-Hagan - Western Bulldogs NGA
#8 Braeden Campbell - Sydney Swans Academy
#9 Lachie Jones - Port Adelaide NGA
#14 Alex Davies - Gold Coast Academy (can be pre-listed by the Suns)
#18 Joel Jeffrey - Gold Coast Academy (can be pre-listed by the Suns)
#20 Reef McInnes - Collingwood NGA
#22 Errol Gulden - Sydney Swans Academy
#23 Connor Downie - Hawthorn NGA
A selection of other Academy prospects:
Brandon Walker - Fremantle NGA
Joel Western - Fremantle NGA
Tariek Newchurch - Adelaide NGA
Brodie Lake - Gold Coast Academy (can be pre-listed by the Suns)
Blake Coleman - Brisbane Academy
Points bearing picks for clubs listed above (except Gold Coast), with a likely draft strategy for each club:
Adelaide: 1, 9, 22, 23, 40, 56, 66 (6832) - use two to four picks before matching a bid on Tariek Newchurch
Brisbane: 25, 53, 58, 63, 68, 69 (1379) - use one pick before matching a bid on Blake Coleman
Collingwood: 14, 16, 65 (2318) - use one pick before recruiting Reef McInnes directly, or match if early bid is made
Fremantle: 12, 32, 55 (2059) - draft strategy for their NGA prospects isn't immediately obvious with the picks they have. May be recruiting only one of them or looking for pick swaps?
Hawthorn: 4, 24, 45, 46, 49, 72 (3803) - use one or two picks before matching a bid on Connor Downie
Port Adelaide: 35, 47, 57, 59, 73 (1187) - use their picks to match a bid on Lachie Jones
Sydney Swans: 3, 31, 34, 43, 60 (3906) - use one pick before matching bids on Braeden Campbell and Errol Gulden
Western Bulldogs: 26, 33, 41, 42, 54 (2319) - use their picks to match a bid on Jamarra Ugle-Hagan"Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

Doubt McDonald gets past North, so it could be Hollands who I really like, DGB if we bite the bullet for an intercept defender at pick 3, or Phillips who as a 17yo was not far behind Rowell and Anderson.
We should get a gem at pick 3, plus Campbell and Gulden, should be a Golden draft :-) I'd like Papley Jnr with a late pick, Swans man through and through.
Paddy McCartin, for those that asked, can be added for free as a delisted player. Our current pick 82 will be in points bearing territory by the time Gulden gets a bid.Comment
