Richmond must have a tight salary cap, Dusty on $1.3mill per season for the next 5 years, don't think Tom Lynch is playing for peanuts and Shai Bolton out of contract, highly promising Coleman-Jones out of contract. Be the last club Mitchell would be likely to land, second last would be the Pies who still have cap woes :-)
Essendon? well Dodo would only want to give Hawks a third rounder LOLComment

I think the suggestion last night, in terms of Melbourne clubs that Mitchell would go to, is all about Hawthorn trying to secure some early picks. I wouldn’t be surprised if they agreed to continue paying some of his salary if they could get him to Richmond and were offered decent picks in exchange.Comment

Thanks KSAS. Forgot those two. Loved them both! Mopsy went to Norf under the 10 year rule, I think. Paul went to StKilda and we were all disappointed. As for Wozzer, he was never the same up north but I really can’t recall him coming back. He could.mark a ball!Comment

I think Sydney should target Harry McKay. A McKay/McDonald combo has our forward line set for 10 years. I’d trade a first round/ Blakey and Parker. Carlton need a natural leader Parker is great but is getting on in age and I’d imagine is on big money. I can’t see were Blakey fits in Sydney but am sure Carlton would be happy to take him....thoughts

Pay a lot less money, go for Charlie Curnow and see if the Swans can rehabilitate him. A couple of years ago he was the key forward of the future. Probably worth a late 2nd round pick.
Whilst you have Amartey and McLean who can do a credible job at AFL level, you have the cover to try and get Curnow going.
The SMH are speculating that Sam Reid is in a fight to obtain a contract for 2022. I think with the amount of time he’s spending on the physio table, that it’s time to move on.Comment

The beast in the middle has one more in him at least. Terrific to see Joey on board for 2022

Strange, I thought they already announced this a month or so ago.
I can't see us delisting Sam Reid yet unless his injuries are really crippling. But his salary will surely be shrinking.
Don't agree to trading out Parker. Don't agree to bringing in Curnow - not on a speculative basis anyway, we'd want to be pretty confident he was going to have a substantial career. All opinions are not equal. I don't think chasing Harry McKay or Charlie Curnow is realistic. Carlton are not likely to give up their future so easily.
I already mentioned Mabior Chol as a key trade target for us, going on 2 years now. Another possibility is Josh Schache. He has little chance of breaking into the WB team, especially with JUH waiting in the wings. He had a decent 2019 and will only be 24 yo next year. He has clearly been a disappointment so far, especially given that he was a number 2 draft pick.
I would give up our 2nd round pick pick for either of them.Comment

I watched Schache his last senior game for the Dogs and he was very disappointing. He lacks aggression and a physical presence. He was easily outmarked by a key defender at one point. I would not touch him.
Chol at Richmond would be a good pick-up.Comment

Certainly no abuse April, as every suggestion merits due consideration- however some can be a bit far fetched! Out of interest, have we ever taken back a player who left us?
In Mitchell’s case, clearly the money was a big factor. Now it is fair to say that as professionals they want to secure their future but the coin he received from the Swans was not exactly shabby and is there such a thing as love of a club ?Mitchell didn’t show too much. On that basis I say no thank you!Comment
