I’ve always liked Hewitt but can understand the club’s position. I find it funny that some are saying supporters on here are wrong in underrating he and Fox - the club itself has:

    - not even spoken to Hewitt about another contract

    - delisted Fox at the end of last year, only to give a 1-year deal, and now apparently only extended for 1 more (I know they wouldn’t have delisted him if the rules had been known, but obviously he was on the border of not staying on the list last year and was only ever going to get 1 more year).

Clearly the club has seen them as not a lot more than OK contributors.
Steve, I don’t think we have underrated Hewitt, nor has the club as he has always played when fit.

Where do you know that the club hasn’t spoken to him about another contract? The club may be under salary cap pressure and so not able to offer/match a contract but I’d be very surprised if no negotiations have taken place- it’s not the Swans way, surely.

Regarding Robbie: yes, they made a mistake last year but rectified it as soon as they could. He is needed for depth but no harm in offering 1 year at a time

So I deduce we are looking to trade in a ruckman, but if we don't we will keep one of them.
Reid also will have to get used to a salary drop of 50%. Has made a career on potential rather than consistent high performance , but good luck to him. Rather they just cut ties for good. Just my opinion.

Sam would have been a star if he kicked straight.

It’s already resolved. The number on his back is 10 !!!

            Joke of the year.

We can't see his number because he's lying on his back in the operating theatre.

Good point earlier on Wicks and O'Reardon not being mentioned in the media release. My understanding was that they were done deals?

I think the Swans will see if there are any takers for Reid and Sinkers. If not, then it could be interesting.

Dylan's first year was superb, so let's hope he kicks on. I'm still convinced he can potentially be as good as any of our young uns. And you don't ever want to waste the investment in a pick five. Give him a chance to flourish. It's now down to him.

I love McLean's endeavour. Fox is a solid citizen. And glad they've given Gould one more shot given the disruption of the past two years. So, happy for all three.

And yes, with Amarty and McLean locked in, not looking great for Sam. I suspect he'll be left hanging till the outcome of trades, a decision on Sinkers, etc.

Hard to argue with the delistings.
                Aye.

Lol, I recall several years ago during a match telecast the (Vic) commentator laughingly said Swans supporters hadn’t received the memo re mandatory booing of ex-players now playing for the opposition. (I can’t remember which ex-Swans player in the particular game caused the comment).

But I suspect many Swans’ fans might pull out the memo for Dawson.

And you have all summer to practise your boooooo! Find a few Port fans to give you some lessons [emoji3].

Actually it is the Swans way, just ask Shane Mumford, we didn’t offer him a contract once we signed Buddy

He was treated very poorly by the club, regardless of the lack of salary cap at the time.

Haven’t you ever wondered why he always steps up another notch against us

I can’t see either having any takers Sinkers will be 33 next year and Sam 30 with a horrendous injury record.

I think we should all get over the JD thing. I agree with everyone here that he will be an AA, and the media will be on our back about the fact that we have let another future AA walk out the door. So lets exact the most we can out of the trade.

Would the Crows be open to trading pick 4 plus their say 2nd next year for Dawson and our first this year? Not sure about this as apparently after the first 4 picks, the next 40 players are all very even. Therefore it may be good to bank some draft capital for next year? Wat does everyone else think?

Great news that Stephens, McLean, BWG and Fox have resigned. I think they will all have a role to play in our side next year. Though I hate to say it that it means Hewett is also out the door. I hope the club uses his salary cap space on McDonald, Gulden, Campbell Rowbottom and Warner.

Interesting re Wicks... I would have thought that he's be a monty to stay... being a Sydney lad.....

afl.com.auStephens has committed to a further two seasons at the Swans after considering interest from several clubs including Collingwood, Essendon and those in his native South Australia. The midfielder should have more opportunities next season with fellow long-kicking left-footer Jordan Dawson already signalling his intention to return to South Australia and Port Adelaide expressing an "extreme interest".
Next week Dawnson announces he will remain at the Swans (as he intended all along) declaring that his request for a trade was actually a ploy to entice Stephens to resign …and in doing so it enhances Dawnson’s bid to win the Barry Round best club man award by putting the club’s best interests before his own reputation on RWO.

Besides, I'd back in Kinnear and Simon Dalrymple to find another JD. We are so very fortunate to have two of the best recruiters in the business...

Now we need to get Naismith off the books. I hope he retires soon as can't imagine what he has gone through.
