Ricciuto is a goose isn't he, and it reflects poorly on the young man who has now disgraced the number once worn by the great Troy Luff that he's his hero. Because what goes around comes around.

It's definitely not the Swans way, and won't ultimately happen, but just for the sake of our hand in the negotiations, I do hope someone on list management is putting a call into Norf just to confirm they have both the interest and salary cap space (which they will) if young Jordan finds his way to the PSD and ensuring he and his management know the potential is there.

As I said, a deal will be done because the Swans are ultimately practical traders, it's just do whatever is needed to make sure it's the best deal for our club.

Yep, He is the primary reason why Adelaide fell from premiership contenders only a few seasons ago to deadbeats. Good player. Rubish administrator.

Pick 4 is way light in value for Dawson. As a comparison compare Dylan Stephens #5 and Dawson. Who is of more value and Stephens is likely a safer bet than what you would eventually get with #4. A number of #4 which will eventually be #6 are duds while Dawson is a proven star. If Adelaide want Dawson it should be pick 4 plus or wlak him to the PSD. Time to play hardball.

I’m sure that Horse, the Lizard or Tommy Harley can always call Johnny Blakey….. who I’m sure would be interested

His game against the Lions in round 1 was great- towards the latter part of the season he was so similar to Bell and Ronke that you could have played any one of them with the same poor result. I don’t under appreciate him- I just want him to play to his obvious abilities. Please don’t give me this pressure nonsense as a few tackles here and there don’t make a reasonable team contribution. And he gave away a lot of frees.

He kept being picked as the coaches hoped he would recapture his early season form, but I would have sent him back to the ressies- he was a passenger in too many games as far as I’m concerned. A higher standard is required if we are to win a flag and unless he can impact a bit more, he doesn’t deserve a spot in the team.
He gave away 1.1 free kicks a game.. Papley gave away 1.0.
Can't agree with any of your assessment there. A "few tackles and pressure nonsense" is what sets teams apart in modern footy.

Please don’t make any comparisons with Papley- it’s laughable for anyone who watches our games. You are of course welcome to disagree with my assessments but can you explain the difference between Wicks (later games) and Bell?
I’ll withdraw Ronke for the moment as he hardly played this year but is of the same type and occupies the same position in the team.

Most of us agree that JB tries his best but simply doesn’t do enough on the day and was given sufficient games.
Wicks has the potential, as he has shown, but has fallen off- I’ve watched every game and it’s there for all to see.

I mean, I could show you that Wicks outperforms Bell on every statistic across the season. But stats don't appear to matter.
This feels rather pointless to argue. It's clear we view the game differently. Only that one of the views of shared by the match committee. Happy to leave it here.

100% in your corner on this one. Have no idea why Wicks seems so under appreciated on here.

People arguing for the sake of arguing . Even ive said hes a limited player but he has a role and does it well , as long as hes doing that and theres no one who can do it better he 'll be in the team . Period

When he tries to act all statement-like and say something like..."well, you can't do that..."
He doesnt why you can't do that, or what the consequences are, he just heard from someone that you can't do it.

                          1. Brayden Maynard - pre-agent. Probably worth a 2nd round draft pick.
                          2. Jayden Laverde - out of contract. Again 2nd rounder. Maybe 3rd.

These two are a bit more speculative but have potential:

                          3. Jake Riccardi - out of contract. He's played AFL mainly as a forward but has been playing defence in VFL. I think he's super talented and could transition similar to Tom McC.
                          4. Jarrod Brander - out of contract. Similar to Riccardi. Young and hasn't been able to get a real crack at it.

I also would like to see Paddy McC added as well.
I’ve read that Maynard is staying now with Collingwood but haven’t heard anything about Laverde? I’m still pretty keen on him. Has anyone heard or read anything?

I think Brander looks talented and worth a go.
Laverde is such a goer. Real heart and soul type. But he seems to be player undersized all the time. I don't think he'll be the powerful KPP we are after, but a good replacement for Rampe in time perhaps.

Don't think Laverde is going anywhere, Brander however is "on the table". The big question is why WCE want to trade him if he's any good, but I think the answer may not be straightforward.

We want our team to be successful and to achieve that, we need above average players. So when a “team member” who is very talented and important to the team decides to leave, we feel the loss. No way can this be sugar coated- we will miss Jordan. Can we cover the loss? I think so, but of course we would prefer if he was still with us.

Players do need to look to their own best interests, but they are not employees exactly like those of us in jobs, nor is the club your typical employer. There is a lot more emotion involved and team spirit is absolutely crucial as without it a club can’t and won’t succeed. But it is also a business and so there are rules that must be followed, and unfortunately this leads to tough decisions for both players and clubs.

I can understand Jordan wanting to be closer to family and perhaps earn a few dollars more. However, going to the Crows, instead of staying with us for another 2 years and chasing a flag, which every footballer yearns for, is strange.
If the Adelaide offer is nowhere near satisfactory, I would let him go to the draft- he may then reconsider his position.
Yeah sure Dawson will be missed. I think I posted a while ago that he is harder to replace than Parker (who hadn't re-signed at that point).
There are very few players like him in the comp. But once the guy has made his decision I, as a Swans fan just move on. I don't usually
like to criticize other RWO contributors posts because I think it's their opinion and they are entitled to it. However I did think some of
criticism of Dawson on here was unnecessarily personal. The fact is we just don't know the personal circumstances the players are in,
and it's their life in the end.
Interestingly, I just got back from golf this morning where I was paired with a young Waratahs player who I'd never heard of before because
I know virtually nothing about union. I won't mention his name but it was interesting hearing him talk about his development as a young
player, choosing union over league, and all of the challenges he had faced and what was in front of him. He is very ambitious and highly
motivated with what seems like a level head on his shoulders. What was totally evident was how consuming choosing this career path is
for these young guys, and Dawson will be in the same boat. It's their life, and they should do what they think is best for them.
