Warner it is! Well I'm not that thrilled with that. Can't believe we passed on Draper. But good to get both brothers. Hopefully Warner can be excellent.

I think there will be a lot of smiles on here with Chad Jnr selected by us!

We still have three picks to go. I expect we will use only one of them.

Haha Ludwig, for someone that brings so many great laughs to our board so often, I feel honoured by your endorsement! Couldn't think of any other way to describe the likely reaction!

Moves uncannily like Chad. That same powerful first step and strong hips.

Absolutely stoked with all 3 picks actually.... I think that KB and SD have done really well. All areas where we needed to address have been (the Ruck with Ladhams, the inside mids with the the Gus and with Roberts, bit of outside run with Warner and a KPD with McCartin to come). Great work by the recruiting team

I agree the recruiting team know more than us fans.

                            But…

-we let Hewitt go as we have too many mids.
-we are trying to get Stephens, Campbell and Rowbottom into the top 22 whilst planning to put Heeney into the midfield more regularly
-our last live picks around 18 were Jones, Florent and Towers

So why two midfielders instead of upgrading Wicks/Bell in the small/medium forward role or upgrading Fox/O’Riordan/Melican/Cunningham in the small defender or third tall, especially with Rampe’s age?

Or Conway to pair with Ladhams in a couple of years? He was available at 18!

Even with JPK retiring we still have a heap of mids with many keen to see Clarke and Taylor given an extended chance to play in the seniors…

While I'm pleased with Corey, I am surprised that we went with three medium sized mids. I suppose that means we're doubling down on the run and gun style. It also leaves no doubt that we're signing Paddy McCartin. And I guess it means, that we do consider Gould and O'Connor to be genuine KPD prospects.

I'm suprised we went with three midfielders as well, but to be honest i haven't looked overly closely in recent weeks at the draft (been one of those periods at work where haven't felt like I've stopped for quite a while, so been pretty tired recently). Seems to be a real mixed consensus about the quality of the draft, so perhaps the thinking was along the lines of thinking other gaps to fill can wait until next year?

Interesting we've take more WA boys too - wonder if part of it is trying to build a decent cohort of them at the club to try and dampen the go home factor.
