I think PK got the job a bit like Alan Border in the 80s. There probably wasn’t a lot there and PK displayed a lot of the leadership traits. I’m sure giving it to senior players in team meetings wasn’t one of the winning qualities.

Matthew Rawle of the GCS will probably get the job young like PK in the early 90s because there is not much else.

PK turned out to be absolutely brilliant captain. Judging by their close friendship, I don’t think PK would have given it to Pluggar in team forums.

Among the players on our list when Kells was appointed captain were: Mark Bayes, Dennis Carroll, Neil Cordy, Daryn Creswell, Andrew Dunkley, David Murphy.

Yup. Not much else to choose from

Oh my lord, a has been AFL player going toe to toe with a has been rugby player. I expect there will be another Pacific tsunami warning when power of the first punch of that bout lands. Honestly, if you think more than the minority of the population gives a rats fat clacker about that one, I’ve got a fair chunk of the Sydney Harbour Bridge to sell you

Why did Kirk have to kick Barry down in the press conference? Kirk should reflect on this and think about how Brady handled Antonio.
Ummm because it’s gridiron and who really cares about that sport? I mean a bunch of Americans do. And some Aussies. But this is an Aussie Rules board.

And who the ???? is Antonio Brown?

Please don’t answer that. I simply couldn’t care less.

I object to Barry and SBW being referred to as “a has been”. What have you been? Correct me if I’m wrong, in the world of elite Australia sport you’ve been “a never been”. Barry and SBW are legends of their respective sport and deserve to be called better than “a has been”.

I think the fight is attracting huge interest. I think at least 80% of Swans fans will tune on March 23rd as long as the Swans are not playing.

I’m sorry your not displaying a global perspective of professional sport. The NFL is huge.

Jordan Mailata (a brilliant Australia born left tackle) earns 22 million Australia dollars per season. If he keeps his form and upward trajectory he will earn 88 million over 4 years.

Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t the whole Swans playing list cost 13.4 million in 2021. Jordan earns almost 9 million Australian dollars more than the whole Swans list.

The NFL matters because it’s globally huge. Putting your head in the sand and not acknowledging it’s scale is a narrow minded view for sports lovers.

                    Entertaining......but also exasperating.

We follow Australian sport. Who gives a rats what professional sportsmen in America earn?

It's totally irrelevant as a rating of any sportsman's actual worth as a person.....

.....and this is what we're talking about. Not some traditional economic hierarchy.

Elon Musk is worth about $269 billion. Doesn’t make me want to build a car.

Surely you don’t think you can make me want to like watching gridiron? Come to think of it , history would suggest otherwise.

Let’s just agree to disagree coz I don’t care about gridiron, thugby or pugilism.

We can agree that Barry Hall is a champion of the AFL game and along with Goodes the greatest Swan of the 2000 - 2010 decade.

We can agree that grass is green. Except when it's yellow. Or blue.

I was disappointed when Barry left. I guess he and some other parts of the club couldn't sort out their differences in the end. I've read his
book and he is one of those guys you have to take the good with the bad I think. Not an angel but not a serial killer either. He was an
awesome player for us for many years and still had a few years left in the tank when he left to go to the Bulldogs as evidenced by how
many goals he kicked for them. I wish he had kicked them for us.

This forum wouldn't be the same without its odd-bods. There always seems to be one. Usually they burn themselves out after a year or two.
