Yes, the fact that the first two outlets to run it, were the Daily Mail and the Gold Coast Bulletin, pretty well convinced me, that there was little chance of there being any fact based reporting.

Would free coffees and weekends away etc make that much of a difference? I'd understand if they had free housing, cars or the like, I.e big expensive stuff you are guaranteed to need. But $10k in free stuff would not give them much of a salary cap advantage so to speak

I found it interesting that the Mongrel Punt suggested that Hewett is an injury risk, with known back issues.

Standard practice that guys on one year contracts are always the last to get signed. You put the big important pieces in first, then finish by signing all the one year players.

Wonder what type of contract Paddy will get given his excellent form?

Given how well Fox is playing, he'll be re-signed in due course, as will Reid, as will Buddy providing he finishes off the season well :-)

Really makes buddy look like a mercenary. Extremely disappointed but I guess having a family and a high profile partner you get pressured to follow the $$.

But yeah, the whole thing makes me feel kind of hollow as a Swans fan
