Seems highly unlikely to me as he's a 204cm ruckman - when we have Grundy, Ladhams, McAndrew and potentially May coming on board as a rookie academy pick.

Plus, from what I've seen of him, he's good at the ruck work itself and a good athlete, but yet to do a lot elsewhere and not shown any real forward craft.

Here's his rookieme profile for the record: Will Green Draft Profile - Aussie Rules Rookie Me Central (formerly AFL Draft Central)
I think he would be a very good pick.

Will take 2-3 years to develop at least, particularly as ruckmen take the longest. Ladhams covers that period perfectly. For that matter, he might be hitting his straps in 4-6 years which will coincide Grundy coming to the end too.

Sort of good news. Great that we are keeping him but don't like the prospect of him going through the rookie draft.

I'm happy about this news. Good decision.

Must be a great clubman and a great guy given everything.

Pleased Reid is being given another year. He is a very valuable player (when fit of course!) and am I convinced the only reason Collingwood got back into the preliminary final in 2022 was his injury. They hadn't had a sniff until then.

It's great news re: Reid. At his best, he's excellent overhead and can pinch hit in the ruck. The club must think he's got some some chance at getting back in the mix, otherwise why would you bother?

                Agree with you Jimitron.
Up till half time Reid was dominating the game and then got injured. His contribution in 2022 was a major reason why we made the Grand Final

So there are 2 left without a contract for next season - Wicks and Magor

Wicks and Reid give us solid forward line depth. Both will be pushing hard to make best 22.

And they both could be rookies
Amazing that even our rookie depth could really push for starting spots

Happy about Sammy- hopefully he can stay reasonably fit next year. Regarding Wicks: I’ve been a big critic as I don’t think he contributes enough, however the club obviously sees it differently to give him another year. Hope he replays the faith but I would have let him go, as he’s not first 22 and there are youngsters needing game time.

If youngsters deserve senior time they will push out under performing more senior players.

With the off season changes and hopefully a better run with injuries, we should have a reserves side more capable of developing players than we get when it's mostly toppies.

Konstanty, Mitchell, Vickery hardly sighted last season, Sheldrick, Roberts, Co Warner be wanting to make a claim in their third year, hopefully the penny has dropped for Ladhams, pick 12 and Cleary added as well.
