Ironically the GF Sam Reid should have played in was 2016. He had fully recovered from his injury and was definitely in consideration, but in the end there were concerns about his match fitness. He certainly would have been better than Xavier Richards, and who knows, he might have made the difference, although the umpires probably would have made sure that would not happen

Remember that. Buddy hurt his ankle early on in that game and Reid would have been more than handy. Xavier Richards played pretty well in the finals up to that game and then shot himself in the foot requesting a trade. never played again IIRC.

Swans website reporting Wicks has today signed on for another 2 years. I'm happy with that. Good depth player and capable in the senior team.

              Waste of a spot.

Bit harsh I reckon TBC. When he started, he seemed to kick a lot straighter for goal. If he can get that back, he is still useful. Generates shots on goal.

Wicks wouldn't be on much as well.

I remember going to the pre-season game this year v Lions and standing about 15m away as Sammy R clunked an awesome pack mark and then slotted the goal confidently on an acute angle. Here we go I thought!

Not seen on an Aussie Rules ground for the rest of the year. Feels like the height of optimism to give him another year but best of luck to him.

This phantom draft has Ollie Murphy falling to us at pick 15. James Leake to the Saints at pick 17.

All the phantom drafts so far have Connor O'Sullivan out of our reach, with either Ollie Murphy or James Leake a possibility. Happy with either if we do get the opportunity (hope we don't overlook with a left field selection!). I am warming to Leake who looks like a Rampe replacement, which is also vital as securing a KPD. My only concern with Leake is long term when Tassie come into the competition

For me….the Swans are such a mystery with their first pick most years

If we are going for best talent which supposedly we do every year (just depends how u frame that) I would t be surprised if the two below are not neck and neck in the 10 or so that we are choosing from

                              KOLTYN THOLSTRUP
                              ARIE SCHOENMAKER
                              CALEB WINDSOR

We need to obviously take into account go home factor as a massive weighting in what ever we do. I suppose that was part of our reasoning behind Stephen’s and maybe even Konstanty?

                              Ling?
                              Lamb?
                              Towers?

Worked well with Florent and Hayward atleast.

I’ve been worried about taking a Tasmanian, given the lack of clarity on concessions. There was a high risk they’d be allowed to walk cheap.

But I’m less convinced than ever there’ll be a Tasmanian side. The government there is already in minority and slipping further, those holding the cards on the cross bench oppose stadium funding, and the Opposition does too. There’s a good chance the whole package falls over and given the AFL’s deal is no stadium, no team - we may yet see the whole concept of a 19th side collapse.
