Would be nice if we're able to get both HH & TDK without breaking the bank. Realistically, I don't think that will happen and think recruiting a big bodied midfielder is a higher priority over TDK. Can't have them all (wink wink).
My Recruiting Priority;
1. HH
2. Big Bodied Midfielder
3. TDK as a bonus (elevated if we don't get HH)Comment

Ps that is not me backing away from feeling we should have had a great balance between trades and drafting last two years
I have been quite vocal on that last few years and that strategy has challenged quite strongly but some of the most vocal on this site
But at the same time I never ever would have thought Chad Warner would achieve what he has from year 2 onwards
I have been sitting in the fence with Roberts and sheldrick and Konstanty also
So they could surprise……..either way
And another Lloyd, Rampe, Paps, Fox etc could be unearthed outside of the big time draft picks etc
It certainly is possible with McAndrews as his trajectory could surprise us all and could become a force to be reckoned with
Maybe Stephens who has showed a few hints of being dominant and or should who is getting a taste could leapfrog also after enough timeComment

The paper is unlikely to tell us anything we don't already know. Trading for Himmelberg, Buddy's retirement and the salary cap, Dusty Martin - all have been discussed here already. Houses in Sydney are more expensive than houses in Melbourne: everyone's known that for decades."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

I have to say that Dustin Martin 32 years I age this year, no Hardwick, maybe keen on a Flag but also keen to get out of the bubble must be thinking Swans……if we can do it?
If we had Dustin Martin in our team in a finals series ……. Seriously that would be interesting.
Heeney, Mills, Parker, Warner and Martin rotating through the mids let alone Dusty playing 30% upfront on the tiny SCG would get us another 35 goals per season to replace Buds goals.
Add in Himmelberg and that would be amazing.
We probably have the draft currency to make it happen also.
Would Richmond let him go and at the same time pay part of his contract? As I suspect we would not want to pay much more than $900k pa?
Would Martin only go for two years as I am guessing the Swans wouldn’t want to do much more than 2024 and 2025?"be tough, only when it gets tough"

On SEN this morning it was quoted that Martin is contracted until the end of 2024 and reputedly on $1.2 million next year. Big impost for a club to take on for someone at the end of his career.Comment

Dusty looks to be in decline, another year older in 2024, complex bloke so might not be motivated.
I'd rather save the $, even if Richmond was paying say half, and keep the draft hand we have. Maybe Richmond could do a Gold Coast, send us Dusty and pick 7 to get the $ off their books :-)Comment

How could we possibly get TDK without overpaying?
He is not an unrestricted free agent, and they are investing game time with him ahead of Jack Silvagni (see below).
I think we should just forget about him.
Jack Silvagni who was omitted would be better for us as a ruck forward/ swing man and he also dominated our VFL side playing as a key back. More likely to be able to trade for him given he is not as crucial to the Blues’ future as TDK. Eg if TDK is touted as $800K to get him, Jack Silvagni would be $500K?Comment
