I think you are being a bit harsh on Armartey based on one game. Yes he did drop or fumble a couple of marks he would normally have taken. He leads well, has physical strength, is very fast for a player his size, and generally reads the play well.
Listening to the coaches, the conditions on Friday night were very difficult with the swirling wind a major factor, in fact all the key forwards on both sides struggled with the conditions, Miers being the exception .
Armartey has shown in the past he can take good contested marks, and his recovery at ground level is very good.Comment

Always amusing listening to people talk about swirling conditions for Professional athletes, or that they were "trying hard".
Far be a mere mortal to have some sort of expectation on anyone nowadays.
Amartey was getting hands to the ball, at that point the wind is insignificantComment

We should be chasing the TDK, or other buddy replacements still.Comment

A bit harsh, Barry. He was far from his best but did a few nice things. Dropped a few marks as others did as well. Of course he has a way to go but he’s only played a handful of games. I don’t think anyone was a liability- we just should have converted some relatively easy shots on goal like big Tom and Heens.Comment

If you want to make a one day judgment, Ben Ronke would still be playing AFL, and Gary Rohan's performance against Melbourne last week would have had you lamenting trading him away. He not only was instrumental in getting Geelong the win, but even helped the Swans this week by knocking out Jermy Cameron.Comment

We can add Buller to the list of players who can do some ruck work.
I don't think we will be chasing TDK. Ladhams looks a better #1 ruckman.Comment

I confess I assumed the Swans would use the Academy to talk to every 200+cm lad in the State, so have been surprised by how few ruck have come through there.Comment

Make it happen Swans.

Don't get me wrong, I'd prefer to swap Stephen for someone good, I'm just not sure the option will be available for us.Comment
