GWS have no identity. They may fabricate one if they ever have sustained success. As much as I'm enjoying their finals run this year, I won't be holding my breath.
Barracking for them this week but they were spoon fed from AFL head office with high draft picks that still underpin their team today.

Can't agree with Robbo/AFL360 saying everyone is getting onboard Carlton's success.

I would not be surprised if the overwhelming majority of neutral supporters in Vic are cheering on Brisbane and GWS.

The Blues won a Semi Final and their fans went full on mental . That’s the passion of the game.
        It was extraordinary .
They carried on like they won the Granny .

But Carlton didn't win. We and the Demons lost. Robbo has lost his mind. I can just see all the supporters of the other Vic
teams getting behind Carlton. Up here in Sydney we can all feel the universal love Victorians have for the Blues it's that
          strong.

There are people who think you "should" support the team that is based in the state you live in, regardless of how you feel about them as a team. Seems bizarre to me, but even a few people here think that way.

It's called "minding other people's business". Unfortunately, it's popular the world over.

I can't speak for anyone else, but my lack of antipathy towards the Giants is based on my sincere wish that the Australian game should thrive in Australia's largest city.

Agreed RnR. We need to grow the game in Sydney and our rivalry with the Giants is great for this alone. They’ve peaked at the right time and have a talented squad- we did well when we beat them earlier but now wish them all the best.
Voss has restored some toughness to Carlton but let’s face it, as KTigers said both we and the Dees lost our games rather than Carlton won them. Hopefully they get trounced by the Lions so we won’t have to put up with all the hysteria from the media much longer- it’s sickening!

I fully support the game expanding (outside the 10 teams in Victoria) so two teams in Sydney seems barely enough.
Go GIANTS, play without fear for two more games.

That's far too simplistic. Nice straw man.
I would say the vast majority of swans fans who also like the Giants are all in for the expansion of AFL into NSW and Sydney.
And as far as supporting teams from your own state, that would never work in a state like Victoria, but there is a common comradery between non-vic teams against the Vic bias. So, go lions

Common camaraderie between lots of people here in Melbourne who will be supporting Lions v Blues and Giants v Pies

Headline today on the front page of the Herald Sun is:

BIG V HOPES IN THEIR HANDS
The dreams of the Collingwood and Carlton faithful - and Victorian footy - are riding on stars led by Nick Daicos and Charlie Curnow.

                          ????

Brisbane and GWS please do us a favour!!

Herald Sun a laughing stock here now. No influence whatsoever.

Pretty much lost interest in the finals series and probably won't watch the GF.

I'm aware of your divided loyalties Baz, though I make no pretence to understanding them. I'm old school. One team for life. Let's just leave it there.
