Harry Arnold (delisted), Jaiden Magor (delisted), Sam Reid (retired), Cooper Vickery (delisted)

Memeory not what it was, but didn't we live-trade picks to get Vickery?

I think we did some sort of pick trade with Hawthorn and then it appeared that our recruiters thought it might have been a bit of a laugh to draft Vickery, who was a Hawthorn NGA prospect. Hopefully, they actually had some genuine and compelling reasons for taking him.

And as an aside, with Vickery gone, I don't think we have any indigenous players on our list. Which I don't really see improving too much. Largely because with the NGA picks going back to their previous format, the talented indigenous prospects from the traditional AFL areas, will be tied to the Victorian, SA and WA clubs: unless those clubs choose not to match a bid. So, generally the northern clubs will only have access to indigenous players that they develop through their academies. Which is much more difficult, because rugby league is far more popular than AFL, in the indigenous communities of NSW and Qld. But hey, Mickey O'Loughlin's son might come good?

Piece in the article about Jacob Konstanty who hasn't got contract for next year but not in delistings thus far, with the theory we're hoping to get a trade for him but clubs are rather waiting for him to become a DFA.

Although now that I think of it, it's possible that the Suns still have Darwin as part of their academy zone?

If that's the case, I'd probably hang on to him for another year. His two seasons have been very hampered by injury, so an injury free run could see him fulfil his potential and it probably wouldn't cost much to keep him around. Whereas, it'd be irksome if we let him go and he started playing well, at a Victorian club that got him for nothing.

Sigh. I'm sure your analysis is correct, but it makes me a little sad.

Yes, it would be a bit sad, if we kept on playing Indigenous Round without any indigenous players in the side.

We apparently made a late bid for Riley Garcia (WB) before he signing a 3 year contract to remain at the Kennel.

Would take Stringer in the right deal
Only 30, will take a good defender, mobile and happy to stay fwd and doesn't need midfield time.

Big upgrade from Parks as a Fwd, Parks wasn't a focus for defenders, Stringer would be, only needs 10mins for 3 goals

Is it possible that some players or most likely then the whole team knew that he wanted to leave? This could explain, though of course only in part, a drop in their confidence. Maybe I’m clutching at straws but I’m not happy the way it happened. I want to screw North for a great pick otherwise we keep him!
They were likely talking 3 months + ago, potentially a fair bit further back I'd expect.

If our players are that mentally fragile that a bit of trade talk puts them off their game, then no wonder we've been humiliated twice in three years in a grand final.

We really screwed up the 2022 draft. We could have gotten Weddle and Darcy Jones instead of Konstanty and Vickery. The live trading looked good at time. We just drafted the wrong players. Even going through with the trades, a lot of us were wondering why we took Vickery insteadof Lachie Cowen.

If fitness is not an issue, in that we think what ever ails Konstanty will come good, I would prefer to keep him another year to. Another low draftpick won't help us much anyway.

Maybe if we were able to get Garcia we would have let go of Konstanty. I can't understand why the Dogs were hesitant on Garcia. He's a really good player.

I think it's worth a look at delisted North player Curtis Taylor

He looked lively against us and in other Bulldogs games I watched. He would have been a good pick-up.

So you'd be happy with organised crime figures in the rooms after a match? Wouldn't touch him even if he could kick 10 goals in ten minutes. Even if we had a 'recruit only dickheads' policy I think Stringer would still be on the wrong side of that.

Not sure about a crime figure

He has had issues, not unlike Hogan, he turned it around.

I believe he would compliment our vulnerable fwd line, only for the right price.

No d8ckheads is a bit if a stretch too, if Paps was on another team ppl would say he is a DH.
Was a time there was no bigger DH then Barry Hall and he was a premiership captain.
