    I could live with that.
    And this is a link if anyone wants a look.

    Draft expert Nathan Sepe makes his predictions for every selection in the 2024 AFL National Draft.

    Interesting that no clear number one has emerged. This draft and Rookie Me have Jagga Smith at one, while Cal Twomey has Ashcroft at one with Smith at five, and ESPN has Lalor at one and Smith down at seven.

    This one also adds to the confusion around Kayle Gerreyn, who they rate at 60.

        I could be biased, but I think I enjoyed the Joel Cochran highlights the most. I do like how over the season, he increasingly looked to rapidly take the game on when coming out of defence. Sure, sometimes he's a bit erratic hitting targets, but I suspect that will improve, if he continues to be given a free rein. At times when I watched him, I started to think how much fun it would be, if in two or three years time, we had both him and Blakey rebounding at a high pace (and with a fairly high level of risk). And he did say that Blakey was a role model, in this Rookie Me profile.

        Mobile key defender Joel Cochran is the top Swans Academy prospect this year, boasting high level endurance and intercept marking ability.

          The November edition of Cal Twomey's form guide has been posted.

          Players mentioned as being of interest to Sydney (with ranking, height, position):
          * Jack Whitlock (18th, 200cm key forward)
          * Luke Trainor (19th, 194 cm defender)
          * Jobe Shanahan (20th, 195cm tall forward)
          * Jesse Dattoli (21st, 179cm forward/midfielder)
          * Sam Marshall (23rd, 185cm midfielder, Lions' Academy)
          * Matt Whitlock (24th, 199cm key forward/defender)
          * Jonty Faull (25th, 195cm tall forward)

          It's pretty clear from this list that the Swans are primarily looking to draft taller players in the first round.

            why do we need another tall fwd when jack buller si on rookie list and only been tried once or twice. Same wa u18 team as logan and chad. seems like we need a tall defender instead of a fwd.

              The draft rankings have plenty of talls available with our first 2 picks & we're also likely to select Academy KPD Joel Cochrane with our last pick (53)..

              Makes sense, then we might be interested in Jesse Dattoli or Cooper Hynes (mid/fwds) in.that range if their still on the board. Maybe that's why there's speculation we may move on one of our first rounders on the night?

              if we find ourselves in the unlikely position to draft both the Whitlock twins, will we be tempted to take it?

              Keep eye on the Bulldogs who have pick 17, which the rankings have them missing out on a top mid they desperately need, as they already have plenty of talls.

                      Agree Konstanty turned out badly. But we were never getting Weddle. He told interstate clubs he wasn't moving - of course, all done in a way to avoid AFL sanction. He liked him, looked at him, interviewed him but got the "I'd feel REEEEEEEAAAAAAALLLLLY home sick and would hate living in Sydney, but if you want to pick me of course" routine.

                        Twomey was on the money with the Swans last year in his phantom draft.

                        Phantom draft: 16 Will Green, 25 Caiden Cleary (matching Collingwood's bid).
                        Actual draft: 16 Will Green, 24 Caiden Cleary (matching Collingwood's bid).

                          This is a possibility if both players are available.

                          Could we be considering Ashton Warner as well for the rookie list?

                          As for my guesses for players Swans draft in the first round: Matt Whitlock (forward/defender), Luke Trainor (defender), Jack Whitlock (key forward).

                          McDonald played in defence a bit last season and Reid has retired. We really need another player like Reid, a tall who can play both forward and back as needed. We may end up drafting both of the Whitlocks, but it is likely that one of them will be taken before our picks. I'm guessing Trainor is an option because he's the only defender in the list I posted earlier (from the form guide). So one of the Whitlocks (Matt) and Trainor.

                          In other news, Samuel Wicks (from Upwey Tecoma FNC) has nominated for the draft.

                            Trainor would be a good get if he lasted until our pick. I think he was adjudged BOG in the U17 pre-final curtain raiser last year, and there were times this season he was being touted as a top 10 pick. I guess the evenness and depth of this year's crop means players have moved around a lot throughout the year.

                            Having seen a bit of Leo Lombard, I find it hard to understand why he's not a top five draftee in the sense he's a great mix of power, skill, toughness and ability to find the ball. But I guess the answer is because there are others rated more highly. But he looks like a ripper.

                              I read somewhere that Trainor has had three or four concussions this year, so if that's correct, then that might be why he's been sliding. And I'm also surprised that Lombard isn't rated more highly. However, I think he had a fairly quiet game against Vic Metro, so that might be influencing the opinions of the Victorian pundits, more than the other excellent games that he played.

                              For one of our first round picks, I'm starting to warm to the idea of taking a small forward. Papley is our only quality player in the position. While I like Wicks more than others do, he's probably never going to be one of the first players picked, and although Cleary did pretty well when tried there last season, he definitely is an inside mid. And I suspect that the need for more depth in the position, was a factor in the drafting of Konstanty.

                              The two options available in that range are Dattoli and Hannaford. A couple of pundits have us taking Dattoli, and he seems fine, but I'm increasingly liking Hannaford. He's kicked a heap of goals since being switched forward in the second half of the season, can spend useful time in the middle, seems a real hard nut and one of the phantom drafts rated him as perhaps the best pressure player in the draft. So, if that's fairly accurate, then he could be just what we need.

                                Whoops, I forgot that we took Hanily midseason. Although he's done well, I doubt if he'll develop into an A grader, so I'd still be happy if we took a small forward with potentially more upside.
