It would be good to get this complete, what nos did Goldsmith and Cleggy wear?
Great to see the 'Moose' mentioned again, and Sanford Wheeler did he have the first 'dreadies' in the comp? And a great asset to the club, energetic defender.........and his band played at Club functions!
This should be a project for someone, update the numbers game, one of those million plus posters, who obviously have the time.......
Sports do not build character. They reveal it....Heywood Broun
I always turn to the sports pages first, which record people's accomplishments. The front page has nothing but man's failures......Earl Warren
Originally posted by Rob-bloods Bit harsh, IMO an excellent goer, incidentally Hafey mentions him amongst his favourites at the Swans in front of some much more vaunted players!
Opinion only, but was a very frustrating footballer who kicked poorly and rarely performed against the top teams. Let us down far too many times for mine, an opinion shared by the boys just to the right of the scoreboard at the Lake Oval, and just to the left of the small pie stand.

Up in Sydney he did the business, hard at it and held his own when Dr Geoff bought the Mercenary squad, we must agree to disagree.

besides the voting for the best player to have worn the number. I'd just love to know the history of the number. Perhaps this is something we can obtain from the club itself and record it on here as we are embracing our history more and more these days.
Here's my heart and you can break it
I need some release, release, release
We need
Love and peace
I hought Stevie Wright was a fine player for the club - kicked 8 against West Coast and followed with 5 against Essendon in 1988 IIRC, plus 2 B&Fs.
Big fan of Brice too.
Other numbers I can think of:
11 - Peter Bedford
23 - Colin Hounsel, Justin Crawford
