That's a good sign. Could it all just be rumour and speculation as usual? The latest on the Jolly saga.

Jolly's easily worth a first-round pick. He's an established, top-quality ruckman. A draft pick is still a lottery.
Also saying that teams would not pick him because of 'youth policy' is absurd. He'll only be 26 next season.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

I re-iterate - rucking is overrated. That was shown last night - Cox was one of the best afield and is the best ruckman in the comp by a mile, and WC had a stack more hitouts, but Collingwood smashed WC in clearances.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Correct you need midfielders with speed and the intelligence to read the ball. Hate to say this but that describes the Pies midfield. On paper just so so players yet smashed WCE at centre bounces without their dynamic trio = no useful midfielders, even though Priddus got 37 possessions was not affective at centre bounces.
Back track to last Saturday where the Pies belted us out of the centre bounces. Common denominator, useless midfield clearance players. When Bolton and McVeigh could not affect one clearance between them for the whole game and Bolton was in there for most of them, we have a major problems. 2 reasons - the players or lack there of and the coaches who couldn't get it right for the whole season.Comment

Jolly is in a win win situation. If we dont pay him what he wants someone will.
Again loyalty goes out the window if he goes. We save his career but in the end it is all about the dough. It is no more expensive to raise a one year old in Sydney as it is in Melbourne. What a crock of a reason to move clubs. Osh Kosh Bigosh clothes might be slightly more expensive in Sydney.
I prefer the reason someone gave us after speaking to him at a function - hates the place or his wife does.Comment

You would reckon that with a month on his contract if Jolly was staying he would have signed by now. He may have cooked his goose if thinks he can hold out for big bucks because I bet our premier backman Bevo is putting his hand up for more dosh now that he has had such such a stellar season, and J Bolton is doing the same because the media always puts him in the best.Comment

Agreed. As I've said before, just take a look at the Brisbane game where we had the ruck dominance, but when a side made three quick breaks from stoppages, it was Brisbane. Yes, Jolly was carved up in the 06 GF, but that was one of his worst games, and it was by one of the very best players in the competition. Rushing out for Everitt who, when you consider Jolly now shares the job he did pretty much by himself last year, is really only half a player, is a sign of mistaken priorities.
At the same time, we can't go out with absolutely no quality ruckman. If we lose Jolly, we at least need a mid-level player to take over. I don't have the confidence that Doyle can get through a season without injury, or even his chances of staying on the list.Comment
