Bevan: How long has he got?

The pragmatist in me says Bevan is 25 and has played 96 games. He's a toiler, no doubt about it, but after 96 games if he hasn't 'made' it I'm not sure he will. That said, he was 6th last year in the B&F so he's not outside the best 22... yet.
At least give him another 4 games so we get dibs on his offspring, should they eventuate.10100111001 ;-)Comment

Wrong position
I can't remember the last time a half back flanker/back pocket player had 7(or was it 8?) goals kicked by his opponents but I am sure someone will tell me.
Roos took too long to move C Bolton onto Johnstone ..we had almost lost the game at that point, then Stokes ,his next opponent celebrates the shift with a couple, then the turnovers etc etc.
My Verdict : The Kid can play but is a more natural forward. Put him next to Mick and we might finally get the crumbing that goes begging so often unless Macca is there. He has courage and can kick straight and his brain fades will suit our forward line..it will be business as usual there. He is simply too slow to take the oppositions small quick and Johnstone was always going to take him apart. What was Roos thinking?Comment

Dion Myles..... from memory he had 7 kicked on him by the very ordinary 'pony haired pussy of Carlton'...Pearse.
Sadly for Dion, his career ended that day.
Agree with your verdict, he should of been moved forward, nothing was happening up there anyway..IMO it was poor, stubborn coaching.Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MTComment

GS14, you have taken it upon yourself to play the role of the anti-connolly. For every outrageous pro-Bevan post that connolly makes, you now need to post an equally outrageous view of the other extreme.
The difference is, everybody but newbies who don't know the connolly history and a couple of 16yo's who aren't worldly enough to understand 'taking the piss' realise that connolly is doing just that, 'taking the piss'.
Oh sure, he likes Bevan, but even he would have a chuckle at some of the Bevan dribble he writes in the name of keeping the charade going.
Yesterday he had a shocker, but he will never be more than an ordinary footballer, who is lucky enough to be on a list at a time when he is the only option to play his position.Does God believe in Atheists?Comment

LRT? (Although yesterday he was not too bad - not very good either. He, and his beautoful bouncy hair are just there, week in, week out.)Comment

Everyone, connolly included, realises Bevan is not as good as he implies. His extreme views on Bevan force people to correct him making it seem Bevan is constantly being put down.
Undoubtedly without connolly, Bevans profile would be much smaller on RWO - but it would generally be more positive.
I'm not sure if this makes sense to anyone but me.Last edited by Bloody Hell; 10 May 2009, 10:01 PM.The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.Comment

I remember reading an article (maybe for his 50th Game) where Roos said he has a very fragile ego. Bevan thought he didn't belong in the team and Roos had to tell him - you've played 50 games - you belong!
I would suggest the fear is if you drop him you will do alot of damage, that may take a while to get over - rather than seeing any improvement.
That said he's nearly played 100 games....Schneider got almost that many before he was deemed a burden. If you are going to cut and run, might as well do it now.The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.Comment

Our forward line struggles to kick 100 now - all you need is Bevo up there running into Halls space, giving away frees - he is the Scarecrow....if he only had a brain.
Hall, O'Loughlin, Meredith, O'Keefe, Vespa, Moore, Grundy - who makes way??? Meredith?...NO!The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.Comment
