He saved the season against Freo last year with another into the pack mark. He fills the forward channel fearlessly. It is one of the hardest things in football to do, to run back into packs on the oppositions forward line. The WC had a monster Lynch playing and the kid went back without flinching, this is my point, took an exceptionally skillful mark, and this is my other point, under enormous pressure. He takes pack marks in front of packs, not just holding his ground but running backwards into the pack. Try doing that at AFL level. It is easier for a small player to turn his back on the balls flight and face the pack, wait and hope for the ball to spill off the pack. Not this kid. He's got it all. Guts and skill. As for McKinley's mark if you know the way a defender can stop a forward marking, who is holding his ground under a dropping punt, under the present rules, apart from attempting to punch the ball, send it off to Roosey with the instructions. We would all be fascinated to know what defenders are supposed to do. The kid attempted to punch the ball. Sometimes even the best defenders fail to spoil.
Bevan: How long has he got?

So typical to dismiss one of his real good moments last night, of which there was plenty, by pointing out the one occasion he was outpointed by his opponent.
You had plenty to say last week when he had a bad one, admitted by all and sundry, Bevan apologists included.
Show some kahoonas and admit he was good last night.Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09Comment

I don't need kahoonas (don't have any anyway) and I think Bevo is just fine in his job, has great courage, does things his teammates appreciate and I think we should all pull our heads in. He is no worse than any of our previous players, such as Benny Matthews, and in many ways far better, and I don't remember seeing this much negative publicity for them. He does his best all the time, sometimes its not enough, and sometimes even Paul Kelly got beaten! Enough already! The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.Comment

I think you need to watch the game again if you think that was the only time in the game he was beaten by his opponent. Regardless, I'm interested in a player's overall game, not one good or one bad incident.
The answer as simply stated is to get in front - something 42 does not have the strength or awareness to do. I have NEVER seen him start in front. He is always chasing and behind."As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.Comment

Don't worry about kahoonas how about using those other two essential organs - your eyes. You clearly didn't see him beat Johnston last week when he was in front. I do apologise you were one of those fair minded "supporters"who blamed Bevo for Johnstone kicking the goal after he had beaten him pointless If you have ever played the game, or even watched it most defenders on most occasions play forwards from behind.Bevo bandwagon driverComment
