Impossible to get it right every time, any reasonable person knows that. Robbo simply said that the club may have got this one wrong. Odds are that he'll struggle like a lot of players taken late in the draft and the club will be proven to be correct but I think it's reasonable to ponder whether we should've kept him or not.
    Totally agree with you Plugger.

Liz, 99% of the time I love reading your usually insightful posts, but this time you're nit picking for the sake of nit picking.

All Robbo said was that Faulks has the potential to bite us on the ass.
That statement is completely and utterly accurate, he does have the 'potential' to do that.
But then again so does every other trade/discard.

To start throwing around hypotheticals of whether we will be up in arms over Brabazon or a selected player at the draft in front of another, due to one statement about Faulks, is just absurd.
There is no debate because there are no hard facts.

Agree to disagree, and move on.

Suggest you all re watch our last game of the season, Sherman isn't worth pick 21 on that performance and I think he is generally over rated after just one stand out season.

Sherman to go to Dogs who have a $5 million debt. Good luck to him.

There is no way to force Sherman to come against his wishes, he has an existing contract with Brissie and so he has to sign another one with whichever new club trades for him. I don't the Lions would have been very impressed with his refusal to even talk to the Swans officials. What he should have done is met with us and then still re-iterate his preference for the Bulldogs. Unless he believes that we have some sort of Jedi mind trick up our sleeve.

He actually came to sydney last week to talk with us and check out what we had, but he was never keen.

Yes I was aware of that, I'm referring to yesterday when he reportedly did not even want to speak to us.

But how many times can a bloke say his not keen, both he and his manager have made it clear to sydney a number of times that he won't come.

Time to move on I think. We have room and cash to spend, surely there is someone else available that would help us to our next Premiership. Time to recheck that list of uncontracted players again before the weeks over.

Apparently now a DEFINITE no to Sydney ..... and in a way I'm glad as after a closer review of his recent history he was never worth the pick 21 that we were prepared to give.

Every Sherman you bring in is another Rohan etc that doesn't get game time and we have already brought in an Everitt who should be in the 22 (if he can get himself back to his first year form) for a reserves player (Ves) so that is one less spot for young player. I think with our list as it now stands unless we can get in a real game breaker then lets back our current and future youngsters to develop into at least as good as the Shermans on offer.

I wonder if we are still in the trade market or closing up shop for this year?

Bulldogs are very active, typical of a club desperately trying to close that last gap to the flag. Not only grabbed Ves but look o have Cat Djerrkerra, after Sherman and have interest in Blue Walker.
