They rate chapman as negligent and Grundy as intentional and the difference is 2 weeks. Well bugger me, that makes loads of sense.
Patterns emerge, but do they mean anything? No.

It looks like he can appeal and still just have one week off if he loses so I bet we go for it.

I am at loss to understand how Grundy gets a week for a tap that would not crack an egg and Chapman gets a reprimand for his hit on McGlynn!!??!! Grundy was stupid to put himself in this position but the inconsistency in this is beyond confusing!

So who do we put in Grundy's place then?
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

I think its fair enough that Heath gets a week for his silly action. I'm also ok with Chappy's charge, and a little surprised that Stevie J was charged but I certainly thinks he deserves to be suspended for that. I don't think we should fight Heath's charge as it was pretty obvious and I would rather we don't take the risk of a further week - we do have at least 2 finals games in this campaign, hopefully more...

Therefore Reid in for Tommy, and LRT to go back into Heath's role, with Armstrong or Malceski to fight it out for sub...

They could show some footage of when Grundy kicks it out on the full despite 'intending' to hit a teammate.

"This is a total of six activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level Three offence, drawing 225 demerit points and a two-match sanction. He has an existing five-year good record, which reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 168.75 points and a one-match sanction. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 126.56 points and a one-match sanction."

He'll lose the early plea bonus and so it'll take it from 126.56 to 168.75 "and a one match
sanction". So nothing to lose - and have a look at some of the MRP penalties thrown out this year. But Baz' plea may go against us, even years on as other clubs have been moaning ever since - and Dunkley?

I wouldn't be surprised if Walsh took LRT's role down front. Don't think I'd mind either, especially if Morton is carrying something.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Totally agree. Chapman's hit was clearly intentional not simply "negligent conduct".

Because elbows can do far more damage than a fist.

Grundy's charge may have to be 'intentional' because it was an off the ball incident. I think Grundy's suspension is a mixed blessing. Gets LRT out of the forward line. Now is when his true value is evident. LRT is a slightly better match up against Tippet anyway. And maybe Armstrong can stay in the side.
