Perhaps the AFL would rather see him go there just to make them more competitive. But then as another article said yesterday; if Tippett doesn't end up at the Swans then the AFL could face a restraint of trade case that heads to court and they don't want that.

And add to that the fact that now the AFL have said Adelaide do not have to delist another player after all, but swans missed out on a trade even although a legitimate offer was offered.

I think it's a bit silly to suggest the AFL screwed us or have for some reason orchestrated Tippett going to GWS. The Tippett trade was blocked because Tippett was part of an investigation into draft tampering and salary cap rorts.
While it's annoying the trade wasn't able to go through, there's nothing more - and certainly nothing sinister - to it.

I think the talk of massive penalties for Tippett is exaggerated. Precedent would suggest that the club and agent pay the price.

If the AFL wants to outlaw this sort of thing, killing off rouge agents and scaring others straight will achieve that.

On both counts ('2nd round pick' and 'marketing deal' issues) Blucher made the additional agreement, but how do you prove they were presented to Tippett as shady deals?

These agents pay utility bills and wipe their players' noses for them if they get a cold, so it's plausible that Tippett was given the 'dumbed down' version of what was agreed to, and could have genuinely assumed all was above board. His dad being so involved only adds to that - he would have been saying all was good to make Kurt comfortable to sign.

GWS just want some short-term publicity and are feigning interest. They'll pass him over and make a point of how expensive he was, that he wasn't worth it in the end etc etc.

We were screwed because of the timing. Adelaide could have brought this to the AFL's attention anytime in the last 3 years, instead they do it with a week to go in trade period giving the AFL no choice and Sydney no time. Why did they let it go on for 2 weeks into the trade period and not fess up at the start when they knew they couldn't get value for him. The fact is the Swans are the innocent party here and have missed the chance to legitimately trade for him simply through gross incompetence at the AFC.

So if he want to stick it to the Crows one more time, KT does not register for the Draft and they have to de register another player. He then waits till the Pre season draft which may eliminate a few clubs that may gazump us.. However the big talkers are the ones that have indicated interest and they will be in the pre season draft.. Big gamble.. However most clubs will have filled their list by draft and not wait till pre season..

Why not be a rookie KT and demand 1,000,000 a year and a 4 year contract as indicated in the papers? Not many will wait this long and you can hope the Swans pick you.

Serve your 2* game suspension on the rookie list and be elevated by game 3*.

Will keep this game going till preseason at least! (The game of who will get KT)
