I'd be hoping he is back fully fit by second week of the finals. Hopefully can get a run the last home and away run but I'd be happy as long as he is back firing for week 2.

The flip side of course is that Nankervis gets an extended run in the seniors - you can't develop without opportunities and I like what I see with his aggression and skills. Bearing in mind that ruckmen are notoriously late bloomers I see him as a keeper, sure he is not super agile but for mine his work ethic is a big plus on the other side of the ledger plus he has a bit of mongrel in him. Even if he is our long term third ruckman if he can be a capable and reliable back up for the first two for the next 6-8 seasons he will be a valuable albeit under-rated member of our squad

The other good thing about nankervis getting an extended run in the seniors is that it opens up a spot on the list for derrickx again as the non playing travelling emergency. A vital role that derrickx has fulfilled with such suave in the past. Who knows we may even get a few more celebrity interviews from him.

Derrickx is the luckiest least skill full player on an AFL list that's well paid. And now he also fronts a band as well as being seen with bondi models.

Not bad for someone with limited skill who would have been most likely a labourer atm.

Nankervis played well against Melbourne in conditions that were atrocious and his aggressive attack on the football demonstrated his commitment and so long as the weather remains to be inclement, he will be an asset but in dry weather his lack of pace will be exploited especially by the teams we are likely to meet in September.
Moreover, after this weekend just past, imagine how he might go against St Kilda at Etihad.

He's other job is part-time model. That's why he hang around with models.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

              So far, so good:

Tippett back in the running after surgery - AFL.com.au

              Fingers crossed.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Oh if bambi comes back earlier than planned we win the flag.

Any excuse to resurrect this thread

Sydney Swans' Kurt Tippett gets return date from injury

Plan is to get him back in for rounds 22-23.

Neil who needs an excuse to resurrect a thread that's bigger than the remake of Ben Hur?!

                      Onwards to 5000!
But while I'm here, the commentators yesterday, seemed to think that X would be the person to make way for Tippett. I would've thought that Nankervis would be the obvious one to make way.

Sadly, Tippo is unlikely to return to the team in good condition. At yesterday's aftermath, Nick Davis told us that he and Tippo were acting as personal trainers to each other "But it's not working well. I don't like broccoli and he doesn't like donuts."

BTW Nick is getting fit because he's getting married towards the end of the year and Tippo will be attending so he has to shape up.
