    Hebron also is available

gut feeling is that Parella might not be picked up in the Draft and maybe available in the Rookie Draft as a development ruck man and a year older like Nanny was

        It's on at the Horden.
I wonder if they're taking ekkies with them? Will there be drug sniffer dogs?

The AFL have profiles and videos and all the top prospects in this year's draft at: Draft Machine - AFL.com.au

Take a look at Tony Olango. I think he has so much potential with his pace, athleticism and kicking skills. I would take him ahead of Tim English.

There are a lot of good prospects that will likely drop to the rookie draft. See Ari Sakeson and Tye Bedford (another kid from Halls Creek). It's hard to see our current crop of academy kids competing with this talent.

Ludwig, you've got too much time on your hands to be trawling through all those videos!

I like the look of Olango and the profiles of him on several sites but with so much upside will he last until our picks in the 40s?

I keep hoping for GWS to get pinged draft picks for the Whitfield affair thereby helping our draft position but the AFL looks to be squibbing it. How about the GWS response "our two officials acted outside of club rules so we shouldn't be pinged". Well the Crows could have mounted that argument about Tippettgate, their two officials acted outside of club rules but they copped a big whack. A club is responsible for the actions of their officials, especially senior officials. A test here for the AFL, if they don't take away draft picks from GWS then they are showing favouritism to their lovechild.

Exactly. Recruiting a KPD will allow other players, who shouldn't necessarily be playing there to play in the midfield. I'd also like to see Rampe and Jones spending some time in the midfield too.

Looks like we're going to select 4 in the draft, 4 in the rookie draft and one player in the category B rookie according to this Kinnear Beatson interview:

I am pretty sure any academy player we take as a rookie qualifies as a NSW zone pick.

And while zone picks don't have to come from our academies (eg Harry C a few years back, when the Giants weren't interested), we have nominated a long list of potential academy players (meaning we have the right to match a bid for them in the main draft). The list is pretty much the NEAFL U19 regulars from 2016 plus Jake Brown (who is still an U18).
Kinnear Beatson may also have been referring to Ben Davis, brother of Abe, or Max Lynch who was not nominated by GWS. The Swans are able to preselect as category B rookies any NSW players overlooked in the national draft. They did this last year with Galloway and Murray.

I doubt Lynch would be available as he is an impressive young ruckman but it would be nice to get him. It seems strange that GWS did not nominate him especially seeing he was invited to the national combine.

I'd heard or read somwhere that Tim English measured 205cm at the combine but Tony Olango only 197cm. That's a big difference for 2 potential ruckman.

Olango is listed at 201 cm, but can out jump English with his vertical leap being much better. Olango also ran 2.94 in the 20 m sprint, finishing tied for 8th and just edging out speedster Shai Bolton. What I like about Olango is that he has a rare athleticism for a ruckman. Being from a soccer background, he also has naturally good foot skills. It came in handy for Adam Goodes who was so good kicking the ball off the ground.

I think he will be available at our last live pick, but I have no idea if we have any interest in him.

What I would look for in this draft would be:
                            1. Pick 9: Griffin Logue (unless Taranto is available)
                            2. Pick 19: An outside midfielder-forward with pace like Simpkin, Bolton, Gallucci, Cox, SPP. One of them has to be available.
                            3. Pick 46: Medium defender-wingman with pace and skills: Bailey Morrish, Harry Morrison, Tom Williamson, Josh Williams. All have line breaking speed.
                            4. Pick 49: Project ruckman: Tony Olango

This a very realistic outcome and one that could well give us 4 AFL quality players to add to an already strong young list.

Olango tested 197.4cm at the combine so he is not 201cm. Didn't stand out at the combine for his leap but he has real potential to be worth one of our 40s picks.

Have you put in a call to Kinnear Beatson yet Ludwig?

he would have potential like AA as a key defender at 197cm with his mobility.........

might need a few years i.e. AA debuted at 22yrs of age but he would be a great system at the Swans
