After reading phantom drafts and watching some video today, I can now see why this year's draft is seen as a bit different to other years. There is a fair it of discrepancy between the phantom drafters from positions 6 or 7 through to 20. For that reason, I am now excited by pick 14 (I know, I know... I've changed pretty quick). At pick 14, it is highly likely that someone would've slipped to this point like Balta, Coffield, or Foggarty. If not, I like the look of Lochie O'Brien - he has a nice penetrating left kick with good outside speed and apparently elite endurance.

I'm sure this won't be popular but I would consider trading Parker if the right deal could be done.
I think having him and JPK and Hanners makes us too slow + he has gone missing in some big games.
Parker is a fine player and has trade currency so we would obviously get something decent for him. A fast outside mid is something we are lacking and would compliment our contested ball midfield well.Comment

Why the Swans should target 'Libba': Sydney's 2017 season in review
"If the Bulldogs and Libba are looking at a fresh start, what better place than the Swans? The club's history of instilling a new approach in players' careers and setting them up for amazing results is famous, with their strong culture and leadership.
At 25, "Libba'' should be at the peak of his powers and at his best is one of the premium clearance and contested ball players in the game. The tight confines and high-stoppage style at the SCG would suit his game, and he would become a nice addition around the contest with Parker, Kennedy and Heeney."Comment

A lot of these media pundits are boring me to death with their superficial analyses. I don't always agree with our game plan, but I I have no problems with the way we have been transitioning our list. I don't think it's lost on our recruiters that we need to continue down this path.Comment

Is Zak Jones over-rated? I'm going to go against the grain here. He's a model for inconsistency and turns the ball over too many times. I can only remember him being good for a couple of games early on this season, then everyone jumped on his bandwagon. Just re-signed but I'd put him on the trade table.Last edited by tlock; 21 September 2017, 07:01 AM.Comment

Give him some more time; he won't be a Mills or Heeney, but we will get a good player out of him.doof-doofComment

I've torn my hair out on occasion - how many times does he have to get run down from behind? - but I think "Give him a bit more time" is the right approach. He does have talent. He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment
