Surely the salary cap must be getting full at GWS, Cameron is on a $mill, they've re-signed a squillion high draft picks, they have to get vaguely close to the truckload of cash being offered by Norf and others for Kelly. Interesting to see how GWS manage it all now they only have the same cap as everyone else.
We should be targeting the GWS at every opportunity. Many of them are from NSW and would love to play for a club with our culture.

But who though from NSW? Considering you take into account our needs, our recruiting going forward knowing who we have coming through from the academy. Also who the club considers might develop into a senior player going forward.

Half way through the year and list changes starting to become clearer (to me!)

Delist: BJ, Rose, Leonardis, who knows the status of Talia within the club and whether he himself wants a new start (if anyone will take him)

Retirement: McVeigh, getting successive old man soft tissue injuries and turns 33 at the start of next season

          Upgrade: Melican

Rookies: all showing enough it seems to be worth another year

Draft: three picks, no glaring needs that need to be addressed except KPF

Good point. I agree. Some we might like to have a go at: Kennedy, Himmelberg, Sproule. I'm not sure if any of them have had their contracts extended beyond this year.

I also agree with your summation, 707.

Rose is under contract for 2018 and I'd add Tippett to the traded out ledger.

I'd like to think we'll list a couple of Academy players, Bell and Hardman at the very least, and if we take Hardman I doubt we'd keep Murray as we'd be well stocked for small forwards.

              List is looking good

Rose is contracted till the end of next year so unless he gets traded I think he'll stay on for another year. I like Talia as good depth so I'd keep him unless he wants out. Fully agree in regards to the others. In regards to the rookies there is talk that next year there will not be a rookie list and they will be tacked onto the main list. The only thing is there has been no information in regards if there will be the mandatory 3 picks in the draft or if they might increase it to 4. So McVeigh, Leonardis & BJ out for me. With possibility of one of this years rookies if they want more than 3 picks. N that's the 3 picks. Unless something happens with Dawson he might ask to go home to SA, out of contract end of this year, for opportunity as the crows would like more midfield depth.

Which Kennedy? There is talk that Himmelberg if he leaves would prefer the crows as his bro plays there. We would have had the chance to pre list Sproule last year if we wanted him & if he wanted to come to us so I don't think he's any chance to come plus I don't rate him that highly anyway. Good depth but not best 22 for me. He's on the rookie list so like I said before there is a very good chance he'll be on their main list but there has been no information about if rookies getting promoted will be aloud to be traded so most likely there wouldn't be a trade. We'd have to pick him up as a DFA or draft him. But like I said I wouldn't want him.

You'd be disappointed if they let Dawson walk. Could be an error in the JP Kennedy class.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

I think Brown is still the most likely of the academy players to be drafted. We'll have to wait and see on the others.

Murray is around the size of Rampe and has been playing HB in recent weeks. I don't think he'll be delisted based on current form.

I definitely think we'll be doing everything possible to keep Dawson. He hopefully gets a few senior games this year. His reserves form has been great.

I agree in regards to Brown. Imo the best of the 3 atm but that might change with the carnival. I agree about Dawson that they'd be doing their best to keep him but I could imagine the crows have kept in contact with him since being drafted. Clubs do it all the time like with O'Meara, hawthorn had kept in contact with him since being drafted. Same as the bravedogs with Boyd.

Dawson was taken pick 56 in the draft doubt clubs kept in touch thats usually only for first or second round picks. Letting him go now when he's finding out what he's capable of doing would be a mistake, especially without giving him a good run in the seniors.

Disagree. I've got no doubt clubs keep in contact with players. It would be very unprofessional not to just because they were drafted outside the first 2 rounds. You basically would end up closing your club off from that trade steal that could happen. Once your an AFL player doesn't matter if your drafted at pick 1 or pick 100. Dawson would be your perfect trade steel.

Liked Dawson's numbers in today's NEAFL game, he must be getting close to another senior game, this time in a team that is in form. Strong 190cm players with booming left foot don't come along every day. I think he's a must keep.

I get your point but clubs don't usually look at our depth players unless they've been exposed to senior footy like Membrey, Biggs and Nankervis who had a solid run in the seniors before requesting a trade. Neafl is weak competition hard to judge how they are sometimes look at BJ. I'm sure he's on their list but he would be at the bottom end.
Plus they want someone like Gibbs and are going after Menzel for around 500k.
