Out Tippett. Trade in preuss. Preuss will be the comps dominant ruckman in a couple of years in my opinion and if north Melbourne won't play him then he should do a nankervis and move to somewhere who will play him.

Both are Contracted till the end o next year. Why would Norf trade out a potential number 1 ruck for an over paid reserves player that at best has 3 years left and would not be part of their next premiership tilt? He's not in the same situation as Nankervis one bit. Goldy could be the one traded at the end of the year not Preuss.Comment

I fully agree. Preuss development will be hampered a lot If goldy stays. Both are Number 1 rucks plus goldy more than likely will not be part of their tilt in 3-4 years. Fremantle wound be a good fit for goldy if Sandilands were to retire.Comment

Norf aren't in nearly as bad a spot as I thought they'd be but they are still a fair way off and I can see a Carlton style rebuild happening. If they could bundle up Goldy with their second rounder for another top 10 draft pick that would be a good outcome. Won't be us but could see there being a lot of interest for him.
By the by, I can see Norf missing out on all their free agency targets with the possible exception of Jasper Pittard. Martin will stay at the Tigers but were he to go anywhere it would be the Bombers, I think that Kelly would pick Carlton over the other teams if he leaves GWS (as I think he will) and Fyfe I think will stay at Freo with his value going down by the week.
Which is all well and good unless they turn their attention to Jones and Reid. They won't have an answer on Kelly for a while so I think that buys enough time to get the Jones deal done but if they miss out on all the others then they could go in for Reid heavily.Comment

If they're genuine about a rebuild then I could see that happening.

Just a thought but if Richmond offered their two first round draft spots for Reid would you take it??
Why would they do that;
1. We can match any offer for Reid.
2. Good sides all have two players for their forward attack, they only have one
3. They got a bargain with Nankervis, why not get another quality swans.
4. Forwards who can mark & kick goals are rare, mids are very common; another player like Reid won't come around for years; may as well blow the bank getting him.
Should be interesting how this plays out, but we need to keep him; he is only going to get better.doof-doofComment

I'd like us to draft Joel Garner from the Eastern Ranges, he can play and I want to be able to yell "Go Big Bird"Comment

Agree MG except it wouldnt surprise me if Kelly re-signed for a 2-3 year contract. Guaranteed big time finals action over that period n then cash in long term. A lot of people keep predicting the GWS exodus but apart from Treloer it hasn't been as drastic as some say. Players know now that premiership medallions buy you a lot post footy. Look a Jordan Lewis. Take those 3 medals away n he'd probably not be a regular on AFL360. Same goes for Lake.
Part of me thinks that you may be right but were GWS to win the flag this year then he'd have to be tempted to move having ticked that box.
This offseason will tell a bit re the GWS salary cap space and their list management. Devon Smith, Hopper, Himmelberg and Kennedy are also comimg off contract too.
Sure they have some good kids but if they lose a couple of them plus Kelly their list will be affected. They'll get good draft picks as compensation but with the 1,000 point Whitfield penalty effectively losing them their first rounder it won't be the usual harvest.
GWS really need to win a flag this year or next for the AFLs love child to have any chance of gaining real tractionComment
