So looking at the ladder for 2020 and giving ourselves the bEST opportunity to be competing in 20/21 via the draft and or trading

    Of the fringe teams :

Adelaide and Freeo and North most likely fall and or stagnate

saints and bulldogs on the rise

Essendon with JD playing 15 games plus may move up two wins to 14 wins for the season

Carlton and Sydney hope their youth can makes leaps and bounds in improvement from their 7 and 8 wins in 2019 ??

I’m really frustrated that we didn’t have a couple more irons in the fire Re trades.....and ensure our squad is Much deeper.....Daniher and paps were tough trades to make happen but geese we are struggling to have a serious list for 2020 in comparison to the competition

You would think Daniher would be under even more pressure this year - may make him want him to get out of the bubble even more.

        Jones out, Taylor in.....small deficit.

        Keep pick five.....gain.

Keep Papley....status quo but of course.....gain.

Avoid a risk in Daniher (and possibly get him cheaper next year).....gain.

Would have liked to get a decent mid but overall, I'm feeling pretty happy right now.

I feel that Papley wasn't really all that keen to go. It was just some 'family' pressure. He loves the Swans.

And we can wait till next year for Daniher if we still want him. We can now play both Naismith and Sinclair, fitness willing, in the same side. It also helps sort out our KPP situation, where we've got a lot of players, but we can now buy time to see who is worth keeping and who is not.

My grade for the Swans trade period is an A.
Same. And I reckon 95% of Swans fans agree.

I bet Melbourne media hacks will rate us a D.

Good to see Carringbush can get a trade through 16 minutes after the deadline and the doors were locked.

Telstra AFL Trade Radio on Twitter: "Adrian Dodoro says the Swans' best offer was pick 9 and a future first round pick.

There was a statement made by both us and the Gold Coast; we are done with the Victorian clubs stripping players from northern clubs. Gold Coast was gutsy not caving in to the serial cheats Carlton on the Martin deal and we held strong against the same predators. Hopefully the old line in the sand has been drawn. Maybe Carlton will get Martin for nix but that's how the cookie crumbles, Gold Coast did a great job on refusing to be shafted.

Papley stays; lets move on Tommy and see some even better footy from you.

Bring on the draft. Can't help but think we have our eyes firmly on a player at Pick 5.

Swans did everything I wanted. Kept my favourite player Papley, got rid of turnover Jones and left over-priced Daniher at the alter. Got Taylor as a replacement backup to Papley as a bonus. I'm happy!

Dodoro still banging on about requesting a player.

Here's hoping a dispirited JD has an average 2020, gutted with the way his club has treated him, then comes to us for nothing and is AA again in 2021.

Barrett still rabbiting on about the Swans losing out massively but thankfully Cornes acknowledging his injury risk and the fact that we can come back in a year and that we will have all the leverage.

Dedoro just saying that our strongest offer was pick 9 and a future 1st. EFC wanted player/players but the Swans never entertained that. Stuck strong.....

                        Barrett can get *&^%$.

Now he's going on about Harley 'being arrogant thinking he can get Daniher and then only offer what they did'. Cornes and Wallace are attempting to settle him down......

                        Again, Barrett can get *&^%$*.

I’m guessing we will finish 12th in 2020

Our trajectory of development of youth, our loss of players and our minimal new AFL experienced / ready to go Recruits makes it very challenging to argue that will move much beyond our 8 wins

I just can’t see our team improving more then 10% vs the improvement in other teams just outside the top8

I am guessing 10 wins for 2020 and that is very unsatisfactory to say the least

It’s seriously disappointing vs hawks and geelongs rebuild on the run

For us to go from 8 wins to say 12 wins is a massive improvement for 2020

Buddy will be in his second last year in 2021 at age 34 on a million $ contract

                          Hmmmm

I suppose everyone knows that picks can continue to be traded up to the draft. I figure that if GWS can't trade up to pick 3 and Green is still available at our pick 5, they will give up around 400 points to move up one spot, knowing that we will bid on Green. GWS, knowing that they will draft Green, will look for something other than an inside mid with their pick, so probably won't be taking a player we would be interested in anyway.

PS: Damian Barrett totally fabricating a story about Daniher. He is totally clueless. Sounding a total fool.

Terry Wallace, list manager. No wonder he can't get a job at a club. He was probably responsible for taking Richard Tambling ahead of Franklin.

Dodo says pick 5 never on the table. We offered 9 plus future first, as I thought. It's reassuring to know that RWO is still guiding our list management. No joking; I'm sure that someone in management have been reading this thread. There is a lot of reason in group consensus.

He's still ranting on about the Swans.....'I'll be interested to see what spin the Swans put on their trade period'......'they're probably still formulating what they're going to say'......'or escaping down the fire escape'......'very naive approach' blah blah blah. What an amoeba.....

With Taylor coming in, Papley being kept and Hayward back to fitness you'd imagine Menzel might be gone
