We know we've dropped 7 from the main list and added one but not knowing who may have been moved from the rookie list to the main list doesn't help us understand how many vacancies we have on each list, frustrating :-(
We have had 38 on the main list for a few seasons to manage the salary cap but had 39 this season, 39-7+1=33 so that's 5 we need to get back to 38. How many rookie upgrades?Comment

We may pick more, as we have a lot of delistings, retirements & trades.

A not particularly illuminating article about the non-trade of Riley Knight referencing Swans' interest in him and his meeting with Longmire: Crow stays in the nest after Sydney interest falls through - AFL.com.au. Most interesting bit is that it seems to suggest we didn't recruit him because we got Taylor and kept Papley so didn't need him.All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)Comment

Really?
The Joe Daniher Cup: Wantaway Don not waiting long to face Swans in 2020 - AFL.com.au
Two quotes of note:
"The Swans courted Daniher in the back half of 2019 but were unable to facilitate a trade with the Bombers to lure him out of Tullamarine."
Did we really? This Victorian based speculation seems to be accepted AFL fact now.....
"In round eight last year, the Swans escaped with a controversial five-point win over the Bombers. Co-captain Dane Rampe was fined post-match for climbing a goalpost in the dying stages.".....with yet another posting of the AFL tweet quoting the rule re: climbing the goalposts.
Yes, yet another official reminder to AFL fans as to why they should be negative towards the Swans.Comment

Interesting too that his ongoing groin problems get a mention. You'd have to be a bit loopy to give up two first round picks and a star player for a bloke with ongoing groin problems you'd reckon. Said problems were barely an afterthought during trade week. It's very hard to live in a studio apartment in San Jose with a man who's learning to play violin. That's what she told the police when she handed them the empty revolver.

Interesting article: Why a Swan's axing is about to become a major talking point - AFL.com.au. But it is unfortunate that we are, seemingly once again, we are kind of portrayed as the bad guys in a story which is slanted as bad news for potential draft hopefuls. Why didn't they focus on Deluca instead of Hirst? He was the #1 pick in the mid-season draft and was surely just as likely to be picked up in the ND.All opinions are not equal. Given those groin problems, it seems kind of brave to schedule Essendon-Swans in round 2.Comment

Another phantom draft: AFL Phantom Draft 2019: An early top 30. Josh Elliott has us taking Ash at 6 after GWS match our bid on Green.
There is some debate in the comments about whether Melbourne or Adelaide should trade their first pick to GWS and they are talking about GWS giving up much less to get it than we are. I think they'll be suprised how much GWS will be prepared to give to get a pick inside the bid for Green. Pick 6 and 2020 first rounder for pick 3 is definitely way overs but not impossible to envisage. And I think that would be an offer that would be hard for Melbourne (or any club) to refuse. All opinions are not equal. We've got a lot of running half back types waiting in the wings (admittedly not playing in the AFL). I'd rather get Serong, Young, Green or Kemp than Ash as feel we have lots of his type already. Although he may be a cut above those we do have.

We'd potentially be giving them a hit at another first rounder before Green, which we wouldn't if we retained pick 5, and what would they offer us in return? Their next pick is 40, our fourth pick is 44. Unless they'd offer us a future something.Comment
