They’re not impossible. There’s working hubs throughout WA & Queensland. They’re called mining sites.

So miners, the ADF, rugby league players, off shore workers, aid workers etc can be away from family for a very short part of their life to earn a living but an Australian rules footballer earning very very good money can’t do this.

I’d love to truly hear the attitude of Marlion Pickett compared to Cotch n the boys.

As for the families of these merry men I honestly 100% have sympathy for them. The AFL & clubs should provide the utmost support that can be provided if on a WORST case scenario that their partner is required to be away for 20 of 21 weeks. Which I’d expect them to do.

Also where is the outrage atm for parents/grandparents/brothers/sisters who are in a different region in WA who can’t see their loved one due to the locking up of regions. No1 signed up to this when obtaining work in say the wheatbelt. They’re told to get on with it, most likely earning a small wage compared to Cotch n the boys.

    It just screams entitlement.

When you see on TV those Aussie Nurses and Doctors who went into the heart of Covid 19, Italy, to help the italians. Other side of the world. Long hours, Directly interacting with infected people....

Vs Trent Cotchin who doesnt want to go to the Gold Coast for a month or two.

It will be interesting as the Swans ask for players to return, who is reluctant. The NZ Warriors have left one player behind, and I saw reports that the Giants new ruckman from Adelaide (forgot his name) is reluctant to return. There will be a few people who chose not to join a "Hub" and thats ok. No play, no pay.

Sam Jacobs. Fully understand and sympathise with his situation. Moved last trade period. Wife with children who most likely would have no close friends or family in Sydney.

If he refused to go I’d back him to the end. Has every right to say no.

Flip side Cotchin has wife with children. Family support network in Melbourne with most likely very close friends. Same situation as the professions I previously outlined.

Why does that matter if you are in isolation? You cant visit them anyway.

I think Jacobs concern was leaving his wife and kids in Adelaide when he returns to Sydney.

You can in some states and with restrictions starting to lift you would expect to be able to visit people.

And this where I have no sympathy for Cotch n the boys attitude

Victoria not looking good. What do the AFL do now with the other four states all able to train in groups of ten and all those states probably giving the ok for full training within a week or so.

This will show how Vic centric the AFL is. Should take a leaf out of the NRL book and tell the 10 squealing Vic sides that they need to head interstate to save the season. If Cotchin, Riewalt Dangerfield etc don't want to go, no probs, other players will take their place and the non relocators just don't get paid.

Just on the economic downturn and that it appears it may hit Victoria the hardest in regards to international tourism & hospitality. Will this effect the funding in the contract for the grand final to be staged at the MCG?

GF at MCG until 2057 as part of $500m mega-deal

I wouldn’t expect it to be dissolved at all more a change. I’m more interested in how this may effect the funding model.

Go read what I’ve posted previously in regards to the Victorian bias in the competition. And then read what I’ve posted about Victoria the place. If you cannot comprehend the difference it just shows you could be struggling with comprehension.

But just for you this once I’ll post it again. The competition has a bias towards Victorian clubs imo, as also stated by players and the media who live inside of Victoria and outside of Victoria by Tom Rockliff, David King, Kane Cornes, Mark Robinson, Nick Reiwolt etc does this mean they hate Victoria? Or Victorians? Of course not.

And secondly I have previously lived in inner city Melbourne and love the place and people.

Now if all you’ve taken from the post you have quoted is showing I dislike the people of Victoria I don’t know how I can help. Maybe you get someone to get the help you need.

                            Cheers have a good night

Thanks. Pretty much the reponse i expected but i won't take your post personally. It is just tiring reading the same thing over and over. Detracts from my enjoyment of RWO.
