It’s fine. He/she may be struggling with life atm so it’s perfectly understandable to become inward looking and defensive for some people.Comment

You can join us. Any steps toward equality only help the swans.
If you try to block discussion, it will never change.
Alternatively, you can just ignore the "usual suspects" which talk about it. That may be win/win.Comment

If and it’s a big if atm. If the T20 WC goes ahead it’s looking more and more likely that it would be a Docklands GF.
Live Cricket Scores & News International Cricket Council
Pretty much every major venue is tied up with cricket and if crowds are allowed, even in a limited capacity, there is no way an international sporting body will move its premier event for the year to accommodate a national sporting organisation.
From 24th October to 1st all six major cricket venues are used.
This WC cannot be moved to next year either because of the 2021 T20 WC in India.

I don't think anyone here "hates Victorians". Not even sure what that really means anyway. I think a lot of longtime Sydney Swans
supporters are a bit (and in cases very) offended that the league our team is in is very much focused on Melbourne. Everyone
understands the history of the league of course but interstate teams have been around for decades now, but the Melbourne
focus of the league hasn't changed much. I'm sure there will be lots of Freo or Lions supporters that feel the same as us.
As an aside personally I think it's great that when we travel down to Melbourne for a game at the MCG or Marvel there are
almost as many people in crowd supporting the Swans (the away team) as there are the home team.Comment

Old fixture binned, traditional time slots a priority in full rewrite
Traditional time slots is a slight surprise. But they’re now calling a Thursday night game tradition. So expect them to be regular this and next season.Comment

I've been here since 2005 and seen some wonderful and informed commentary and insights.
The fact that you try to suggest i am struggling is trolling.
Easy solution i should have done initally which is block your posts. Dull as...

Good to finally listen to Foxtel and hear commentary on the lacking of integrity when it comes to the fixture, grand final fixture & the bias towards Victorian clubs.
Like Barry has said unless it gets spoken about it will never change and Sydney will be starting with a disadvantage every season.
Previously it was virtually excepted and never spoken about openly in the media.
Jordan Lewis said that if the MCG couldn’t hold a GF with a crowd he’d be very happy to hold it at Optus with a crowd. Riewoldt agreed with exactly what Lewis said. Matthew Pavlich said he was of the opinion it should be “showcased around Australia, play it at the MCG, SCG, Optus oval, Adelaide oval”.
Didn’t ever think I’d ever hear that spoken about openly in the media my lifetime. I still don’t expect to see it ever be moved. But at least now the talk has moved from a public forum into the media.Last edited by Boddo; 5 May 2020, 10:25 PM.Comment

It gets openly spoken about on other forums and has finally made its way to the media. This is how the rediculous situation of WCE playing home finals in Melbourne in the early 90’s disappeared.
It’s never going to change ever if people just sit n just go “oh well that’s the way it is”. I’m not and I openly say It regularly to Victorian clubs supporters If im speaking to them & they hate it but deep down they know it’s true
They will lie and say anything to keep the status quo. Best example for this is Eddie Mcguire.
Yes us like Brisbane are so lucky to have a large supporter base in Melbourne.Comment

As an example of issues like the integrity of the draw is we’ve heard a lot about Richmonds dream run not leaving Melbourne last year for the last 7 games so everyone gets told “well it evens out because of the first half of the year”.
Have a look at Richmonds first half of the year. Hardly left the Melbourne CBD.
Only left the Melbourne CBD 3 times. This is what Travis Boak was alluding to.Comment

An article on what Australia's major sporting leagues, seem to be planning for their returns. Interestingly, it says that the AFL are looking at home and away fixtures, rather than hubs. Although I haven't been paying that much attention, I can't recall anyone from the AFL saying that? But then again, I haven't heard anyone explaining the details of how hubs are supposed to work?
