I know for a FACT he is our best performer in pre seasons and rated internally by the club , he prepares himself like a true professional and comes back after every summer break in peak condition so you know what you will get from him each year ! How many other swans can we say that about ? Parker?? Cunningham ? Thats about it these days .

Campbell and Stephens are class but they have not earne d their stripes and their careers are blips on the radar compared to Lloyd ! We did not become this great club by disrespecting our club champions .
I totally agree with TB on this. I certainly would not trade Lloyd. A consistent, valuable players over numerous seasons. By the way. McDonald and Stephens looked great in the reserves today - future good players for us.

Disgracefully under rated by many on here, is one of the first picked each week by those that really know - the MC

As a delisted FA, we can just add McCartin Snr to our list in any of the sign on periods before next season. If he's playing KPD in the ressies and going well then he's a need

Would have to be one hell of a trade for me to get on board.

Untradeable. We are not a club to trade a two times B&F winner who busts a gut every week. It's not who we are.

In 2016 I argued that Tom Mitchell was traded to create salary space as well as midfield space for George Hewett. Now I believe that it will be Hewett's turn to move on and seek free agency for similar reasons. This time it will be to make midfield space for Warner and Rowbottom.

I have been adamant that it was the Swans that wanted the Mitchell trade in order to accelerate the transition to the more outside quick ball movement team we see today. And for similar reasons, the Swans will encourage George to move on.

In neither case is it a negative reflection of either of these 2 excellent players. It's just a matter of team balance and salary cap management.

We should get a 2nd round compo pick for George, which might be used to recruit a KPP like Chol, Ladhams or Max Lynch (or similar types). This would also allow us to delist Sinclair, a player I like, but is being squeezed out of any realistic future playing role.

I pretty much agree, more of a never say never comment. There's absolutley no one in the league you would trade him for?

Does he not need to get through all the drafts first? My memory tells me that you can only sign DFA's before the draft period if they have just been delisted. And to be eligible for the pre-season recruitment process, the players have to have nominated for the draft. But happy to be corrected on these points.

Kennedy is a hero of the club, but he's getting on. Signing him for next year is a big call. But if we lose Hewett and then Kennedy a year later I think there may be a bit of a gap there. I'm a big Hewett fan and loving seeing him back in the middle as a tagger. I'd have Kennedy and Parker to continually rotate through the forward line to allow for Hewett and Kennedy to continue in our midfield without it being too slow paced.

                      I COME IN PEACE

why would we trade Hewett who has shown he can be far better at tagging and winning the ball , to give opportunities to Rowbottom ? He can earn those opportunities and force his way into the team but Hewett shouldnt be punished for RB's inability to do that !

We are moving the ball fast enough with Hewitt in the side. He is 25 and right in the age bracket we need. I think he has been paid overs (given that he is an RFA and hence in top 10 paid players in the club) but with the right contract, we should definitely keep. It’s not like RB and Warner have been starved of opportunities.

My understanding was we could have just added him before the season as a DFA. His status as a DFA won't have changed since then.

Suppose we'll eventually see, A - if he's wanted and, B - if we can just add him as a DFA

It would be idiotic to trade Hewett voluntarily, he did another awesome job on the Bont yesterday.

If we can't afford to keep him, our salary cap has been completely mismanged

If we keep Hewett (and i think we should) then we need to find a different role for JPK next year.

Centre square ball ups were a huge issue for us yesterday but not sure if they have been a big problem all season. One more nimble player in there would have been helpful yesterday. Needs to be addressed. Outside of those ball ups, Kennedy more than held his own and is still an inside beast and inspiration, as is Parker.
