I see Carlton is now into Lewis Young as well as Cerra and Brander. Nice to be a club where a salary cap does not apply.

Agreed TB- Heaney is fantastic everywhere! Thing is, we have a gap upfront if he spends more time in midfield, and I don’t know who can step up to fill the void. I’m hoping Campbell can partially deputise for Jordan with his left peg but then we will have Blakey on one flank and Lloyd on the other, with JMac on one wing. Can Wicks step up and score more? I watched some of the earlier games of the year and he hit the scoreboard a fair bit. I know some of you like the pressure he can apply but for mine he has to do more, especially if Heaney spends more time in midfield.
Horse talks about Logan, but realistically he is still very raw- is he putting the cart before the “horse”?

Looking at Twomey's draft pick 4 which will drift to pick 6 would equate to Josh Ward or equivalent. Given a choice who would you have? Josh Ward or Jordan Dawson. Its a no brainer to me that Dawson is worth pick 4 and then some. If Adelaide don't want to play at that level I would be quite happy to see him in the PSD where North have plenty of salary cap room and where John Blakey would know his talents. Swans would get nothing but a second round pick in a Covid year is a big gamble and we can probably do nearly as well with the picks we hold and some rookie picks. Time to be tough.Comment

We should trade Judas Dawson to Port for Ladhams and pick 16. Give Crows 48 hrs to come up with a better offer.Comment

I think with the PSD threat (I'd love for Norf to say they'd take him, stuff the wanna go home) that we'll settle for unders, just the way it is given the circumstances.
Pick 23 plus next years second or even plus pick 37 gives us the picks to make a play for Dogs pick 17 or pick 22 that Pies may get from GC.
It's unders and it's annoying but it gives us the chance to do more pick trading and improve our hand this year and/or next year depending on the clubs strategy.
So many other plays could happen as well to change the cards the Cows are playing with.Comment

Re: Adelaide- let’s play hardball. Maybe there’s a chance we can change Jordan’s mind. If not, let him go to the draft, as this will send a strong message to everyone on our list- not that I’m expecting anyone else to want to move!
However, if Ladhams is on the table, I’d be happy to play. 2nd rounders: forget it!!Comment

202cm, SA but not sure from where exactly, left foot. Rucks ok but plays as a KPF a bit where his hands can be a bit concrete. If he comes to us he'll play seniors so it means we're going with a two ruck strategy that may then affect our forward structure.
Doubt we'll get him out of Port cheaply and he did knock us back last year when the Aliir deal was being thrashed out.Comment

Is there not an element of salary cap dump about Ladhams? And wasn’t it Port who said no rather than the player?
Wonder if our pick 31 would get it done?Comment

At the moment, I’m not sure how I feel about Ladhams.
On one hand, we already have Hickey so Ladhams would not play #1 ruck and I don’t think he’s any better than McLean or Amartey as a forward.
On the other hand, the gulf between Hickey and our next best ruck is huge. We would be in big trouble if Hick was injured for a significant period. Sinkers can fill in for a week or two but we’d be really struggling. Amartey & McLean haven’t shown enough to do the ruck job full time.Comment
