We didn't exactly just Pick Swap. We got a player. Remember him? Big guy, name starts with L? Don't remember? Oh well. J think we did more than OK out of that deal and if they are not there at 16, then so be it.Fox Footy's updated Phantom Draft: AFL phantom draft 2021 | Phantom mock draft AFL 2021 Fox Footy: Predictions, news, analysis, draft order (foxsports.com.au).
If this is right and we miss out on both Johnson and Erasmus due to our pick swap with Port I'll be spewing.

Thanks liz and apologies to 707! I had forgotten that the matched bid means the next bid is counted as one lower, so e.g., I thought it would be pick 1 Norf, pick 2 matched by Dogs, pick 2 proper GWS (even though it was the third player drafted), pick 3 etc. So our pick 16 not only is the 18th player selected (if there are two FS before us) but our pick 16 is also worth less points as it is now officially 18.
How complicated.... the FS picks also push our 31, 39 and later picks back, but also move them forward if picks used to match are higher than 31 and 39 respectively! So it all depends on where Collingwood's picks are re whether our 31 and 39 become better, stay where they are, or get worse. Same re Darcy.
It is so complex that they can say for us our first pick is 16, likely to be 18 after FS selections, but they haven't said what our picks 31 and 39 are likely to be after Darcy and Daicos (and if other FS/NGA players are taken before our 31 and 39)....
Have I got this right? If Moore and Daicos and others are bid on before our 16, it makes our 16 worse (as less players available by the time we get to our pick), but our picks 39 and potentially 31 get better and better as all the picks between our 16 and the 31 and 39 get surrendered by other clubs?Comment

The AFL need to hire Antony Green to sort out this complicated numbers game. Makes analysing preferences in an election look like child’s play. I’m pretty sure Antony would be up for the challenge! Thanks liz and apologies to 707! There is talk WCE are open to trading down their pick 10 (12 after FS etc). It would be great if we could get Ladhams and end up picking before Port. I think future picks may come into play (although hopefully not the future first picks)Fox Footy's updated Phantom Draft: AFL phantom draft 2021 | Phantom mock draft AFL 2021 Fox Footy: Predictions, news, analysis, draft order (foxsports.com.au).

I wasn't! I think that banter was a bit put on.
From memory, I thought he:
- broke news about McCartin, including their intentions re where he could play
- volunteered their thinking re Reid
- gave an honest answer about their intended approach to the draft re positions they're interested in
- provided insights re their plans for Ladhams and how the trade affected their drafting

And again, I thought Kinnear explained the thinking on that trade in an interesting way.Comment

As it stands, I think we currently have picks 18, 33 and 39 after pick swaps and bid matching. Two picks used up between 31 and 39."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment
