It is because we drafted midfielders Stephens (yet to prove himself) and Campbell with high picks.

If we had taken or mid to small defenders/forwards, we would be pushing out Fox/Wicks/O’Riordan/Bell or if we had taken bigger forwards/defenders then we would be pushing out Reid/Almarty/McClean/Melican.

    All better losses than Hewitt.

In years to come, if Stephens doesn’t improve substantially and is a bust, he would have cost us both the number 5 pick and Hewitt.
Time will tell I guess.....and as I've always said, the club don't have a crystal ball.....and neither do we.

Take any of those mentioned as they fill our need. As KB has always said, Swans will take the best available no.matter their position. The rest of the picks will be used to find gems identified in their scouting and to fill current and future needs. Can't wait for this draft as it will be the most open due to Covid and the real lack of game time to showcase their skills and talent. Go Swans

          Angus Anderson

Sydney Swans Academy / Sawtell FC / St. John Paul College
State: New South Wales / ACT
          Height: 189cm
          Weight: 90kg

Medium inside midfielder who captained the Swans Academy this year and excelled at stoppages with his ball-winning ability, aggression and second efforts. Played two games in the NAB League averaging 24 disposals (10 contested) at 75 per cent efficiency with five clearances and 3.5 tackles. Has some of the traits of another product of NSW/ACT in St Kilda star Jack Steele with his contested ball-winning, leadership and composure. Interesting article here about F/S selections (apologies if someone has put it up elsewhere) from the good team at ABC that has put out a number of interesting data driven articles this year.

On Wednesday and Thursday, teenagers with names familiar to older footy heads will arrive in the AFL via the father-son rule in the national draft. But does this recruitment technique give clubs a competitive advantage over others?

Chad Warner's brother is also in the draft. I wonder if the Swans will take a gamble with him?

The KPD position will be interesting. I'm still hoping we draft one of Van Rooyen, Bazzo, Dean, or Aleer. However, I do also wonder if there might be a rookie special coming. Talls can often develop later and so there may be one or two from Victoria who didn't get to play much and so are underrated but have developed physically later in the year.

Two names I will throw out there: Justin Davies and Caleb Lewis.

KB's comments have made me wonder if we'll take Sinn, if he's available. Our picks are in spots where who we take and who we want very much depends on who's available. Kind of a dumb comment but it's what I am taking from his reference to rebounding half-backs.

We should check with the Philippines and see how they handed it. (Is this the 1st bad pun)?

Well, so far it's the cardinal one.

That’s original. If he was Indigenous Wesr Australian we would get Deadly as well and that would be overkill.
