Sheathed is injured too. Foot I think. Not sure about Shipley. Given he’s not even an emergency I guess he’s injured or otherwise unavailable. I’d expect him to be amongst the first picked of the non- AFL players.

I see Laidler has promoted himself from fourth emergency to third.

Poor Sam must be a real spud, being listed AFTER the non playing coach on the bench. LOL

I had to look up who Louis Wilson is. He's an academy graduate, who appears to have been in the same cohort as Anderson, Endemann, Edwards, etc. As in, his draft year was last year. However, instead of playing as an overager in the academy side, he's been playing as in the SFL with Sydney Uni. He did well enough to get a rising star nomination in round two. So, he's probably earned his chance in the VFL.

I vaguely remember him playing some decent games, in the interrupted academy program of the previous couple of seasons. Possibly as a nuggety midfielder/forward?

Also pleased that Endemann has been named again. He did a few nice things last game, playing as a small forward. At academy level, he has probably been our most creative mid this season: so, hopefully he gets a few minutes in the midfield today.

I am going to the MCG very early to watch the Reserves game. I will lodge some progress reports on here for those who are interested. Keen to see Hugo in action along with the various younger and fringe players. Its getting to a critical time for players like Stephens, Ronke and Gould to force their way into the first team.

I'm at the game now and a strong mark by McLean in front of goal for our first major. Not sure what Hugo's number is -maybe 45?

Sinclair, Taylor, Stephens and Roberts in the centre square. Bell sometimes too.

Casey top of the ladder and undefeated after 9 rounds so this is going to be a toughie for us!

Yes, Casey better side so far - up by 16 points. We have been reasonably even with them around the ground but their use inside 50 is superior to ours. Best for so far are Clark, Taylor, McLean and Bell. Others to be busy include Campbell and Stephens. Hugo is a rangy type who has a nice kicking action - although he did turn it over once going forward. 20220604_160455.jpg

Campbell seems to be playing onball.

Great team goal started by Melican with an almost spectacular mark and finished by a nice snap by McGuire.

Horrendous turnover kick by Stephens in the backline almost costs us a goal. Needs to do better with ball in hand.
