It might mean he wants to go around for another year but I don't think it's his decision alone. I imagine it will come down to what is achieved during the trade period and on the end-of-year assessments of our fringe VFL players. It likely also depends on whether McLean does eventually put pen to red and white paper. If he wants to play on, he might be in the mix for one of the last couple of spots on the list.

Nice idea (noting Hickey is retiring), but who is trading for Ladhams?

He is a quality transition runner who has the ability to get involved in attack but also has a great wiliness to tackle and defend. His attack on the ball or any opponent who has got it is ferocious and Cleary is able to impact both inside and outside the contest with his run. He impressed during the under-18 national championships with the Allies and was named in the midfield in the All-Australian team. Cleary has since gone on to play some good VFL football for Sydney, including in round 20 when he recorded 22 disposals (12 contested), six clearances and seven score involvements against GWS."
          Get him in.

First round pick even if later
            Grundy trade
            Ben Mackay trade
            Cleary

            Now that would be nice

-First round and second round pick to upgrade our first round pick to around 6-8 to grab Sullivan, we might get a third round pick back
-Grundy for say Hawthorn second round pick
-Remaining picks (round four and what we get back from first trade) for Cleary bid

Doesn’t leave anything to trade for McKay that they would want. NM have said they will match contract terms to force a trade if they won’t get pick 2 compensation. We have Stephens, Clarke Gould and Wicks as possible trades, not close enough I am afraid.

I think we are going to have to offer monster deal to McKay to secure as a free agent. Eg 750-850K range per year for four to five years which is too much?

Id throw, 1st and 2nd pick for Hagan and go 7yr deal

I think he means Jamarra Ugle-Hagan.

I’m pretty confident that’s not going to happen.

Ugle-Hagan? The most overrated footballer since Diamond Jim Tilbrook.

We need some KPD more than KPF unless McLean doesn’t re-sign.

But it also doesn’t seem like Sydney without a marquee full forward like Buddy, Barry Hall, O’Loughlin (sorry re spelling), Plugger or Capper.

I would prefer Naughton to JUH as he can play both ends, and would be a Reid upgrade.
