You may well be right in your assessment of what Melbourne is attempting to do, however if parting with Oliver is not connected with bringing in a key forward to address their obvious weaknesses it does not make sense.
The premiership window is now for Melbourne so you would think this would be their priority

Yes, the Dees need a top forward but I wouldn’t be trading Oliver for that, as he is one of the most talented players in the league- makes no sense to me. Other than obtaining the No. 1 pick, what top forward is available?

If he really is on the table, of course we would show an interest but we can’t give them anyone of note so just get Grundy, Jordon and maybe Harmes and we’re done. Oliver is elite and Melbourne are stupid if they trade him- you don’t offload a match winner in his prime! Unbelievable if true.

So, all these supposedly in the know journos, who track every time a player farts, claim to have insight on every potential trade move weeks and months in advance, knew nothing of this till AFTER the Dogs signed him?
