Love draft night! Don't love that you have to wait until tomorrow for the rest to be completed, but it's sounding like we'll do all our work tonight anyway for a change, so no big deal.

For what it's worth, my wishes tonight are this:

Best case scenario - somehow get O'Sullivan, with either trading up or him sliding, that would be an amazing result!

My next preference - draft Darcy Wilson. It would be awesome if we were able to do it after trading 12 for North's 17 & 18 and get him along with someone else, but I'd be happy enough to take him with our first pick! I reckon he looks like a real classy option, something we don't have a lot of at his type and size.

Third preference - trade 12 for 17 & 18 and then take the best available, whoever the club thinks that may be. I'd love a key defender, but not sure if we rate any of them around our likely picks so who knows.

Can't wait to see what we do, and I hope for once that I'm not initially disappointed with our choices! Lol.

On trading our current pick 12 for North's current picks 17 and 18: while that is appealing, pick 12 is valued at 1268 points, as opposed to picks 17 and 18 adding up 2010 points. So, I assume we would have to give them something else, like our 2024 second round pick.

Also, there could be another complication. If those picks drift back 4 or 5 spots, and a bid on Cleary comes at the top of his projected range, say 19 or 20, then we may have shot ourselves in the foot. Well, that's if I've I'm correctly understanding the AFL rules, which is never a certainty.

Handy for the Suns that North went for McKercher at 2, instead of Walter. I've absolutely nothing against McKercher, but over the championships, I was more impressed by Walter, than I was by Harley Reid.

Adelaide traded up to take Curtin. So, if GWS are still keen on Leake, there might be a vague chance that O'Sullivan will be available for us. Although, Geelong might be taking him as I type.

                    Or Essendon. Or Melbourne.

Although, Essendon have just traded up for Caddy. Which still leaves Geelong, and Melbourne.

Sydney's 2024 second-round pick has been traded to Melbourne.

As for the trade value, it's very fluid as the draft progresses. Having the current live pick can attract a premium. Geelong just traded their live pick 10 to Essendon for pick 11 and 31. 1395 for 1321 and 606. 532 points profit.

O'Sullivan has just gone to the Cats. Leake still on the board, though I am expecting Leake to go to the Giants here.

Gothard to the Giants, which seems a touch early. Happy if we now get Leake.

Leake still available and Sydney's on the clock ...
